Always wonderful to be cared by highly caring providers, nurses, and staff at uci.

The scheduling of my appointment, with the Neurology Department, was done quickly and on my first call. However, my appointment date was 2 -1/2months away. My next scheduling issue was making an appointment for a MRI at the Orange UCI location, much better, only have to wait a month. I can't say enough about Dr Shah - THE BEST - worth the wait.

Excellent experience

I had everything well explained to me. I was treated with courtesy and everyone really cared to listen to me in everything I was needing assistance.

Very good

I like the care I get except for the care of my pain. I have an interventional pain management doctor I have had since 2005. I have an acupuncturist since 2016. I do meditation and visualization and exercise. I have pain from my degenerative joint disease (3-4/10 constant) which is ongoing but usually bearable. I consider this chronic pain. I also have what I consider acute intermittent pain from my discs in my spine that comes and goes and when it comes it is terrible like 8-9 out of 10. I already have a multi modal team and program for myself and just need medication management. My Neurologists My primary care and my sleep medicine doctor and my interventionalist doctor say because I have chronic pain I need a specialist in pain management to write my prescriptions for pain medicine. They believe they have properly referred me to a doctor who will do this one part of my care that they don't feel they can do. But the problem is many of those board certified in pain management (only 250 or so in oc anesthesiologists are board certified in pain management) no longer write prescriptions. They prefer to do interventionalist or multi modal care, even though I already have all those roles filled in my care.

The doctor is really busy. It took me three months to see him after my seizure. That's not good! Other than that, everything was wonderful.
