Dr. Jay Temkin, MD

Arrogant, self involved, & unprofessional. I was struggling with depression. Not suicidal or unproductive.Just depressed and riddled with anxiety.He started me on a standard SSRI but as time went on he was trying to get me to take so many different medications, but I held steady and said the antidepressant was helping. I can't tell you how many addictive drugs he was trying to push. Then one month, I was coughing up blood. Yes! That's life threatening, so I was kind enough to remember to cancel the appt before I headed for the emergency critical care pulmonologist. Temkin called, screamed that NO ONE misses his appts and told me I wasn't getting a refill. shocked!CAN YOU IMAGINE THAT BEHAVIOR FROM A PSYCHIATRIST? My pulmy informed me that this guy is the joke of Collier and Lee & proceeded to keep me alive AND fill my antidepressant scrip. You see, you can't stop these meds cold turkey. You'd think a doctor would know that or at least care about that? THIS WAS MY EXPERIENCE. TRAUMATIC

What a great MD ! Really cares about his patients !

I never write reviews but felt inspired to write one about Dr. Temkin because I want others to know that he is truly an expert in his field, has an excellent bedside manner and is a doctor you can trust. He listens, validates your concerns, “explains your brain” in layman’s terms and customizes a treatment plan appropriate for you. He is respectful, non-judgmental and genuinely cares about your quality of life. Dr. Temkin “gave me my life back” and I honestly couldn’t be happier. I also want to commend Beata, who manages the front office. She is upbeat, considerate, knowledgeable, organized and always a pleasure to speak with and work with. I am grateful for the care I am receiving from both of them and wholeheartedly recommend this practice to anyone seeking first-rate, above-board psychiatric treatment with skilled and effective psychopharmacology support. If I could give 100 stars, I would!

I'd like to express my appreciation to Dr. Jay Tempkin for his medical care. This past year has been extremely difficult for me and I was referred to Dr. Tempkin for assistance with mental wellness. Dr. Tempkin and his team delivered outstanding dedication and expertise, and made it possible for me to get back on my feet. Highly recommend this physician.

I would highly recommend Dr. Temkin. He is so thorough and an expert at what he does. He was able to help with my COVID related anxiety with precision and was able to get me feeling better very quickly. I was so impressed with his extensive pharmaceutical knowledge base. He is professional and compassionate. His secretary Beata is so kind and accomodating as well. Thank you Dr. Temkin!

As a Doctor you would think he would know that you NEVER stop medication cold Turkey, seizures, coma, migraines, and hallucinations among other things happen which I'm starting to go through, needless to say he also treated me for quite some time and still did this to me!

Dr Temkin has brought me a peace I have never had before. He has helped me with my overall health as well as managed my bipolar to where I am stable and enjoying life.

Horrible two visits. He is happy to push pills and that is why some patients like him. His office is cluttered with graffiti which looks like something like the Program , The Hoarders! He is a strange Dr. I would never recommend him!!!

I Was hopeless when I went to Dr. Temkin ‘s office .. My husband had to make the appointment because I literally was so depressed ; Dr Temkin even agreed to see me at 9 PM that evening (My husband took me to the appointment .. of course , I was skeptical because I was such in a “dark place “I didn’t think even Medicine could help me at this point .. The first week I saw the doctor I felt no changes .. by the middle of the second week I felt “OK “was able to function . Like a miracle .

Dr.Temkin is very broad minded and worldly, and you can see from his vast collection of books from every country and other collectors items he has so much wisdom. He understands that there are things in LIFE that each of us must deal with and face to move on, get healthy and very willing to listen to his patients. I had done a lot off research in the Florida SW area, and his Ivy League training in NY and qualifications were the deal breaker for me. I’ve referred others to him with successes!

For the first time in my life (I am a 40 year old woman) I believe I have been properly diagnosed and am on the right treatment plan. I am an alcoholic and have been self medicating for years. The medication combination I am on is changing my world every day. No amount of counseling, rehabs, or twelve step programs have ever truly helped. They have an an 85 percent failure rate. A.A even higher. I have craved alcohol for 20 years at every moment. I don't crave it at all now and am so grateful!

I saw Dr. Temkin for a year. I found him to be very helpful for my specific needs. In particular, I appreciated his compassion and understanding in fighting the corrupt insurance companies for the correct meds I needed, none of this generic BS. He gets it!

Dr. Temkin saved my sanity! His ability to empathize, listen and explain everything in detail as many times as needed is so perfect and welcomed. Dr Temkin called to check on my condition in addition to making appointment times convenient. His great knowledge of psychotropics is very impressive and made me much better. Doctor Temkin has helped several friends of mine who are Registered Nurses and they recommended him highly.

I had the most pleasurable and easy experience while being treated by Dr. Temkin. Took me in the same day I needed to be seen and recognized exactly what I needed to be back to my best in under a week. I'd reccomend him to anyone and everyone! I will definitely continue to see him.

I have and will continue to recommend Dr. Temkin to family, friends and to all who are in need of or searching for a sincere, experienced, knowledgeable and honest physician. Dr. Temkin is current on trending pharmacology. He takes the time to explain the pros and the possible challenges of advertised medications. Dr. Temkin offers an objective view on any and all questions I present. No question is dismissed. I am never rushed out of the office. Dr. Temkin personally returns my phone calls.A+

He was an arrogant man. Told me things that went against every other doctor I have ever seen. There are plenty of good doctors in town,,,,before you drop 200 dollars, shop around.

This was the worst, scariest Doctor I have ever had the mistake to find. Warning:...This is a bad man who is openly mean. He has issues. He is a hoarder with other issues. He is rude, arrogant, condescending, intimidating with no bedside or any other manners. If you use him? good luck! But don?t say you didn?t get a warning. The man gave me nightmares.
