I had a second opinion consultation with Dr. Michalski today and it went very well. He explained the options for my Prostrate Cancer Treatment very thoroughly and took the time necessary to explain alternatives

After serving as a Marine in Vietnam in 1968 and 1969, my exposure to the chemical defoliant known as "Agent Orange" caught up with me when my internist saw that my PSA was dangerously elevated. I was referred to BJC where I had to choose between prostate removal or radiation treatment. After interviewing a surgeon and Dr. Michalski of the Department of Radiation Oncology, my wife and I chose Dr. Michalski's treatment plan for 44 days of radiation and about two years of medication. He was honest in his evaluation of the risks and offered me admission to a select study group. He consulted with me personally many times about my progress. His staff was well-trained and attentive. I have recommended Dr. Michalski to friends. Dr. Michalski is personable and speaks in terms that a layman can understand. He is the best!

After initially being a bit cautious, I've found Dr. Michalski to be one of the very best doctors in his field and not just in St. Louis and the Midwest but the country. His professionalism and knowledge is an additional plus to his resume. I would trust him with my family and friends. He's a great doctor working in a great facility. It just doesn't get any better than this.

I have been seeing Dr Michalski for about 1.5 yrs now and he has been very thoughtful in his approach. Whenever I had questions or concerns, he would show me the options so we could discuss the game plan.

November 2012 I was diagnosed with prostate cancer and shortly thereafter I was being treated by Dr. Michalski. Many of my initial fears were alleviated as he professionally and humanely explained my options. I was a guy that had searched the internet and "thought" I knew everything about my cancer. Worst mistake I ever made, as each circumstance is different as Dr. Michalski explained to me. I just had my annual follow-up (2/23/2021) and couldn't be more pleased. I'm still alive, from Stage 4, and functioning pretty well for a 72 year old man. Dr. Michalski not only saved my life but gave me hope from Day 1.

Terrible communication skills. Arrogant, condescen – Mar 18, 2020
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Michalski?
Arrogant, condescending ..waited 95 minutes in closed exam room for him. He made no apology for making us wait. He does not involve the patient in decision making. Old school. Needs to retire, Does not explain anything. Does not listen. He recorded totally incorrect information in my medical record, because he neither cared nor listened. He is very impressed with himself but not interested in helping patients.
