Awesome Doctor!
I am forever grateful to Dr Palen! Thank you for your care, time and experience! My surgery went great and I knew I was in good hands. The whole entire team was amazing! My tummy looks like nothing has ever happened to me. My doctor took his time to answer all of my questions, explained the procedure and why it had to be done. I loved the fact that my appointments were never rushed and I could get all the questions answered. Dr Palen, thank you from the bottom of my heart for what you do!!!!

I saw Dr.Palen up till 36 weeks. I was never in the same room as him for longer then 5 minutes. His nurse Becca is amazing! During my 36 week appointment I had some questions concerning Covid protocols since numbers were on the rise… he did not answer any of my questions. Instead, I was insulted and talked down to because I chose to wait to be vaccinated till after the baby was born. He was extremely mean and made it a point to make me feel uncomfortable. He even told me “I don’t know why I’m even your doctor”. He went on to tell me I was selfish, inconsiderate, and that I needed to get over the politics. I was already nervous being a first time mom and then Covid happened… I switched doctors and ended up having my baby due to high blood pressure that next week with a new doctor. I was SO extremely nervous to go back that next week… it was an awful experience.

I don’t know what kind of person can call himself a doctor and then refuse to see pregnant woman with severe stomach pain because she hasn’t ‘established full OB care’ with him. When I made the appointment it was clearly communicated that I was wanting to see him regarding a specific issue, NOT a routine OB check up. Upon arriving and staring again I wanted to follow up on an ER visit specifically regarding my ongoing stomach pain, I was told he wouldn’t waste his time doing all that work for “one appointment”.

The nurse and medical student were great. Dr. Palen was not great. If you are a victim of abuse do not go to him he speaks over you, speaks sternly, doesn't listen to the problem and overall I felt very disrespected. I am a 42 yr old woman. I have been to GYN's and this is a visit most women are already apprehensive about. I have never been made to feel how I felt today. I am proud of myself for standing up for myself but he was unapologetic. Women need to feel comfortable, respected, and listened too. He may be a good doc in an emergency situation hopefully but I would not know but definitely not good bedside manor in the office. It is sad that Benefis doesn't take complaints of others serious but I will be writing a letter to them. I survived abuse and I do not need to be made to ever feel lesser or not listened to ever again. I am there because I have a problem to address not to have party who wants to be at a doctor. Please take care and treat patients kinder with heart!

He has taken wonderful care of my baby. Every test and monitoring available in modern medicine I have gratefully accepted and feel she is in very good hands. Our first meeting in February I liked him very much and felt I'd won an OB lottery. Idk if it's covid or what but he will have nothing to do with me anymore. He comes in, listens to baby, asks if I have any questions, and leaves, and lately doesn't even do that. The entire process on his end is less than 5 mins. He never asks how I'm doing and when I share my fears or medical concerns he seems put out and doesn't really help or answer. I'm terrified of birth from the past, and whether he will be supportive of me and kind or act like does during appts. My mental health seems to be a non issue. So I feel stuck throwing myself under the bus hoping the best, knowing the baby will get what she needs, or switching to a different practice late in pregnancy and hoping for us both.

I went with my friend to her appointment today and Dr. Palen is a very caring and compassionate doctor. He is very professional, knowledgeable and straight to the point. I would recommend any woman to see him. It's nice to see a doctor who takes time and listens to his patients.

Dr. Palen in the BEST! He was very caring and understanding throughout my Pregnancy. He made me feel as though he truly care for me as a Person and not just a Patient. His bed side manor was great. His knowledge in Obstetrics is incredible. He knew exactly the plan of care for me during my high risk pregnancy. I would recommend him to any of my family and friends!!

This Dr has a very bad bedside manner. Went to him for a problem and he would not even listen to me when I tried to explain it to him. Filed a complaint with the hospital he works for (Benefis) and they said they would look into it. One day later they called me back and said they talked to him and his staff and they all said he was perfectly professional and I must have misunderstood. This is terribly of course he was not going to admit he was rude and condescending. Worthless!!
