Dr. Jeffrey Bennett, MD

I couldn't write a better review than the one posted just prior to mine. I felt like I was reading my own experience. I've been seeing Dr. Bennett for years due to an ongoing condition. You will be interrupted, misunderstood, talked over, talked down to, dismissed, and gaslight during most appointments with Dr. Bennett. Despite being 'the best' at managing this condition, he doesn't offer much in terms of listening, understanding your concerns, or responding to reported symptoms. He makes false leaps in logic and assumptions about other areas of my health. He dismisses symptoms one day as 'not serious' and the next visit as a symptom to be aware or concerned about, as it pertains to my condition. He will be brash, annoyed, and arrogant when answering questions - that is, if he even allows you to finish your question or concern. He uses shame and blame when medical understanding falls short, instead of empathy or understanding. I've finally had enough and will be seeking a new provider.

I've been seeing Dr Bennett for more than 10 years because everyone insists he is the smartest doctor on this half of the country for my condition. But each time I leave frustrated, disappointed, and no better off. Talking to him is difficult and he comes off that everyone else is beneath him, especially patients. Don't bother advocating for your health because you won't be heard in the 5 minutes you are blessed by his presence; he and his assistant will both blatantly ignore you and act like you're an inconvenience for asking any questions or a layman's translation of anything he's said. I've lost all faith in Bennett after he made a classic (and easily identifiable) causation/correlation leap in logic, and hasn't backed down despite the lack of medical evidence to support his conclusion. My medical care has suffered as a result, so I now need to find another doctor whose genius won't get hung up on totally unrelated conditions.

Agree with previous 1-star reviews. Dr. Bennett is completely condescending and rude. Does not care what you have to say or if you have an opinion on how you want your health and overall eye care to be handled. He sends you for procedures that are contraindicated with your condition, and could make your condition worse! Not only that, the Eye Center's policy (which is NOT advertised) is that you cannot switch providers for a second opinion once you are in. I was recommended to Dr. Pelak, but couldn't see her initially so that is why I chose Dr Bennett as my condition was urgent. Funny enough, the only doctor in there without a 2-3 month long waitlist is Dr. Bennett! Speaks volumes that no one wants to go to him and his availability is WIDE open! Office staff, including Patient Coordinator and Supervisor are also rude.

Dr. Bennett is a wonderful physician. I have a very complex recurring issue. He has been very thorough trying to identify the underlying cause and is always willing to take the time to answer my questions. Several times he has responded to my emails after hours. I drive up from Colorado Springs to see him. I highly recommend him to anyone experiencing severe neurological vision issues.

I enjoy being around Dr. Bennett. He is smart, funny and efficient. He always knows what is going on. I would trust him with my life.
