Dangerous!
Dr. Blitstein is an BAD DOCTOR. He wrote off my complaints and ignored my pleas for help for months. He told me that my symptoms were in my head and suggested I see a psychiatrist. WELP it turned out I had STAGE 2 OVARIAN CANCER. He never called to apologize and he and his staff treated me like garbage. When I would call and BEG for help because of excruciating pain, they said I was exaggerating and making it up. Thank GOD I found a REAL doctor within a few months who diagnosed me immediately ... literally touched me for 2 min and figured it out. I complained to the medical board but they could not care less about patient health or safety, they are only out to cover the butts of their doctors who pay dues. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DOCTOR ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A WOMAN!

One minute appointment
I worked with another urologist and had an appointment with him to go over my test results. He talked to me for less than one minute. Presumably he got paid for an appointment. There were some complicated issues involved.

Dr Blitzen was tracking my PSA for several years. It was rising each visit. When it hit 4.05 he recommended a biopsy. Many doctors would not have done this at such a low rating. I had prostate cancer. Stage 1. We were able to treat and I am now cancer free! He is a caring doctor!!

Fantastic doctor
Great urologist. Effective, sharp, highly intelligent. As soon as he walks in the room his antennae are up picking up clinical clues. He has treated every member of my family. Great sense of humor. Reassuring, compassionate, insightful. A+

Dr Blitstein is a great doctor and a good guy. I am grateful I went here and wouldn’t go to another urologist unless he retires.

Dr Blitstein knowing my husbands history of being a diabetic, having UTIs, an enlarged prostate, and highly elevated PSA, disregarded my husbands current symptoms of being out of work for 3 weeks, still having urine in the blood, lethargy, no appetite, and 3 failed antibiotics and he still REFUSED to move his appointment from 2 weeks into the future!!!! My husband ended up going to the hospital by ambulance and they did a cystoscopy (which Blitstein probably doesn’t even know what that is) and found a mass in my husbands bladder!!! He should have his license taken away!!!

My elderly father's medical issues were complicated by a large kidney stone which Dr. Blitstein managed efficiently, responsibly, and compassionately. He is knowledgeable and experienced, and very thorough, even contacting my dad's other MDs. He always came out to let me know how my dad was doing after his uteroscopy and later stent removal. He called me back same day after I left a late afternoon, non-emergent question. The ASC was a terrific and efficient experience- staff and facility.

I met Dr. Blitstein about a year ago with urinary tract issues. He has helped me immensely since then and my symptoms are nearly gone. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking care from a real professional who demonstrates mature judgement, empathy for his patients and top-notch technical skills.

So reading some of these reviews blows my mind. I was diagnosed with PC at age 47 after a biopsy was performed by Dr. Blitstein. I went into his office expecting to hear that I had Cancer. When the Dr. told me he was visibly upset telling me. That was unexpected and appreciated. Did not see a big ego, he actually recommended that I have my surgery at MSK. He is excellent and I highly recommend him.

14 months after robotic prostate removal, no control of my bladder. Went to pelvic floor therapy, did my exercises. Doctor has no explanation as to why I don't have control. Not very reassuring. At 57 yrs of age, 14 months using clamps and pads I am now looking to have a second surgery, artificial urinary sphincter implant. No guarantees this will cure my problem. Choose wisely before having this procedure

While performing my first bladder cystoscope because an Urgent Care doctor thought I had a blood clot, Dr. Blitstein announced that I had bladder cancer. No sympathy, just announcement. He finished the scope and told me to get dressed and he would be back. I sat in the exam room alone for 10 minutes. When he returned I asked questions and looked numb. He said "I see this every day." I said I didn't and then I found another doctor. No sensitivity and a big ego.

Dr Blitstein was sympathetic to my concerns as to complications. I personally know of a botched robotic procedure, not in NJ, that ended up with opening up my brother. His surgeon cut an artery which caused him to bleed profusely.Ended up with a 8 hour procedure. I went to 4 different Dr.'s wanting to hear get alternative treatment. All said robotic surgery was best for my future health. Dr Blitstein fully explained every step.Post surgery he called me back to answer every question.EXCELLENT Doc

Dr. Blitstein is not able to deliver a diagnosis in laymans terms. I hardly understood a word he told me except the word cancer He used all the scientific terms to give me a diagnosis with no consideration for my emotional well being. He also gave his opinion that I had a tumor that was too large to perform a partial, so my whole kidney had to be removed. I not only Got a second opinion, but I got to keep most of my kidney and it is functioning at 95% capacity.
