Every step of our journey with Dr. Spaw's office has been nothing less than incredible. We were able to get seen in just over a week by Brooke, and Dr. Spaw came in even though we weren't scheduled to see him yet. We were hoping for gel injections to put off surgery, but my husband's knee was so bad that injections were no longer an option. Brooke was open and honest about our options at this point and didn't hesitate to grab Dr. Spaw for us to start the surgery process. Dr. Spaw was completely down to earth and explained things very clearly and never hesitated to help. They got him scheduled for surgery a week later. Dr. Spaw's staff was able to get his paperwork done by the next day and have been available to answer any questions we have had. His whole staff seems to truly care about the patients and enjoy what they do, and it shows! I don't think 5 stars are enough!!!!!!!!!!

I felt very well taken care of with Dr Spaw. He explained everything thoroughly and never made me feel rushed.

Have had 2 knee replacements 7 years apart. Both are doing well. Husband had tendon surgery probably 2005 and has steadily continued to handle hay bales and other farm work. Before each surgery he explained why it was needed, how he would do it, the recovery and therapy time needed, and what could be expected afterwards. Results exceeded expectations and continue to amaze. Was sorry to see him leave Brenham area and Bryan/College Station area but have followed him to Huntsville after the second knee surgery for follow up. Had recommended him to friends that still see him in Huntsville also after their knee and hip surgeries. He is patient and thorough. I recently took my 95 year old mother there for a second opinion and approved of the way he spoke to her about her issue and not to me.

I am very disappointed in Dr J Spaw. He did my surgery on a Thursday Saturday I received a call from his nurse saying he was positive for Covid. I was so sick for two months after my surgery. Sick at both ends and couldn’t take ANY pain pills. I suffered for two months being sick, not able to sleep or eat. It was a nightmare.

Hip surgery that went wrong

As always-it was outstanding. Questions answered patiently, with care and and concern for patience. He has done two joint replacements on me and both very successful. Staff members are very pleasant and professional

He did corrective surgery to my foot from a previous surgery that failed. It is almost a miracle how he has done my foot amazing. Thank you Dr Spaw, your surgeon skills are a wonderful gift.

My husband and I used Dr. Spaw for years, both in College Station and Brenham. We had a total of 3 joints replaced and ongoing treatment, with no adverse follow-up. He is an excellent orthopedist, very patient-oriented, and never too rushed to answer questions and give detailed information about the problem at hand. I was devastated when he was forced to close his practice last year, but that would not deter me from going to him again since he has resumed practice.

As always, we leave your office feeling that we have been well cared for, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Thanks for caring.

Dr Spaw did a great job with my shoulder surgery even though he had to do it twice. PT tore the muscle the second time. Great bed side manner. He was slow to respond to my knee and hip issues however. Would love to know where he is practicing now.

A great doctor. He listens, cares, and does not rush you. My hip surgery and recovery was quick and without much discomfort. I was over 70 yrs. old at the time.

I hope that Dr. Spaw posts where he is working at soon so that I can go see him wherever that is. Dr. Spaw has been my doctor for years and is very good. Excellent doctor.

Dr Spaw was very professional and kind. He took the time to show me what I needed and explained it throughly. He gave me all the attention I needed when I first met him. Within less than a week I had a complete knee replacement and it all went well. His staff took the time to explain what to expect and answered any questions I had. I called several times and they never made me feel bad about calling. I would definitely recommend Dr Spaw.
