I ended up in the hospital with severe anemia. Dr Young happened to be the gastroenterologist that was there that day. It’s a good thing that he was the one there, because he just had a way about him that talked me in to having a colonoscopy/EGD. I was dead set against it before talking to him because of fear. But he was just so kind and understanding. He did my colonoscopy and found cancer. I was staged at stage 4 colon cancer. It has been almost a year and I am at the end of my chemo regimen. After my last PET scan, I was determined as “no cancer detected”. I firmly believe that if Dr Young had not been able to talk me in to a colonoscopy, my prognosis would be entirely different than what it is today. I believe he saved my life. It was only because of his kind nature and understanding and concern that he was able to get thru to me.

I have been seeing Dr. Young for many years. He has yet to make an accurate diagnosis and recommendations for how to help me. He may seem nice, but, in my opinion, he is lacking knowledge in many g.i. issues.

Dr. Young is simply the best. He always considers and explains all viable options. He never makes appointments feel rushed and he is always willing to answer any questions that come up. Dr. Young truly cares about his patients' health and well-being in a way that cannot be compared. He and his team are very timely when relaying results. He has personally called me on occasion when my results yielded urgent further action.
