Dr. Jennell Nelson, MD

Me and my family have been long standing patients of Dr Nelson’s practice. We even saw her at Kaiser and continued to followed her after seeing other dermatologists. She is very knowledgeable and pleasant. We even get to share a laugh with her from time to time. Her live demos at the open house events are my favorite. We have had to wait at times, but when you are dealing with an excellent doctor, they are in demand. She gives you her undivided attention and is always spot on clearing my eczema flares. We are happy with our results for my daughter’s acne and dark spots. I am not sure why these mean spirited negative reviews are here. We have had nothing but positive interactions with her and her staff. We will be happy when she starts seeing patients in person again.

I went in and it was a complete and total waist of time and honestly I feel bad that my insurance even had to pay for it. Do not go if you have any genuine concerns. Immediately left the office and made an appointment with a different practice. She provided me with no information and no services. Waste of time and money. Talked to me for approximately 5 minutes and barely spoke about my concern.

Worst Experience with a "Dr." ever!!!

Please avoid this office at all costs! I went to her twice and waited in the waiting room for no less than an hour and 1/2 each time. When she came in to remove my moles that procedure went fine but during the follow up I asked to have a skin consultation as well. When she walked in she had no idea what I was there for and told me to reschedule my appointment after I had already waited for over an hour!! NEVER AGAIN!!

Please avoid this place if you can I had the worst care ever. I could not even articulate what was happening to me, the doctor will not even allow me to talk. She has preconceived biases and it was so evident. By far the worst experience I have had with any professional. There are excellent options nearby avoid this place at all cost.

I wish I could give less than a 1-star rating. I took my daughter to this practice yesterday. It was the first time either of us had visited. My daughter who is a teenager and has a history of depression, anxiety and an eating disorder, was there seeking care for body acne which was clearly stated on the medical questionnaire we'd completed. When my daughter explained her concerns, Dr. Nelson proceeded to point out that she should also be concerned with the dark spots on her face - since she was there... I was appalled to say the least and could immediately see my daughter's mood plummet. Long story short, this so called doctor didn't examine my daughter's skin but instead said she should be on a long regime of antibiotics coupled with a series of chemical peels if I could afford to spend that much. Again, completely appalled. She mentioned the chemical peel 4 more times before I told my daughter it was time to go. Horribly insensitive and only concerned with selling cosmetic services

My experience was great, informative, and eye opening. I highly recommend Dr. Nelson to anyone who needs to be seen for skin care treatment!

I came here after relocation from Hurricane Florence. My arthritis was flared and my skin was inflamed due to stress. Dr. Nelson helped me get help with Humira. During the initial time my insurance said she was no longer able to be my doctor. Her staff called me and said this was a mistake. I was so pleased with her ability to understand my needs and trying to help me get an expensive medication. I followed up and cancelled the other Dermatologist and came back here.

When comparing notes at the end of our day we both agreed that we both really liked Dr. Nelson's personality and style. We laughed together and just an all around enjoyable experience. From the moment I walked in the door until the moment I walked out I was treated with respect and professionalism. Dr. Nelson really listened to my concerns and spent more time with me than most other doctors. I did not feel rushed or pressured to tell my issues fast so she could get to her next patient. I was seen on time and felt like Dr Nelson and her staff valued my time and me as a person / patient. I highly recommend Dr Nelson and her staff.

Dr. Nelson always listens to all my concerns and looks at all my spots/growths. She takes care of all my needs, is always willing to help me and concerned for my well being. I brought my daughter to see her too and she was so sweet to her and answered all of her questions that were bothering her.

I have been a patient of Dr. Nelson for years, I travel over 40 miles to see her and she is always very thorough. She listens to my concerns and addresses them with professionalism and honesty. Her bedside manner is impeccable. Dr. Nelson and her staff are always caring and kind. I highly recommend her.

Very thorough examination by Dr. Nelson. She patiently answered all my concerns about my aging skin and gave several tips on how to make my skin healthier. Liz was also very attentive and made my visit a good experience:)

Concern about a lifetime of sun exposure as a teenage surfer and a career soldier led me to Doctor Nelson. She followed up an evaluation with some closer examination of suspicious spots and the quick and easy removal of a couple of warts. The Doctor and her staff are efficient, professional and very friendly. They take their time to explain things. I trust them.
