Dr. Jennifer Kurtin, DO

I had a late afternoon appointment in which I was seeking help for months of abdominal pain. Dr. Kurtin listened to my issue, dismissively told me to find a different gastroenterologist and then when I had additional questions she cut me off, told me she had to leave for the day and walked out of my appointment without answering my questions.

#1 This DO works only 2 days a week. She does not seem to be able to follow from one visit to the next or review . Always has computer issues. After my last visit, the 2 things I brought up were dismissed! No action, she complained she will now have to stay until 6pm! Her staff is not supportive and is rude. The staff does minimal when verifing insurance resulting in a bill without using my insurance! I do not feel like Doctor Kurtin has her mind on my health care and that this is just a job.

Dr Kurtin is wonderful, I love her! So genuinely friendly and caring, great listener, never feel rushed, best Dr I've found. HOWEVER, the front desk staff needs to learn to be pleasant, smile, not be so grumpy and act like you're bothering them, and learn to follow through with passing info on to the doctor much better than they do. They need some better training for this job and a better Personality! Seriously.

I like Dr Kurtin, but it's virtually impossible to reach her office by phone. I have tried multiple times over the past two months with no luch. It's obvious that the management of St Lucie Medical Center values making money by cutting staff more than the tiime of their patients. I just hung up after waiting on hold for 44 minutes. Enough is enough.

A Doctor that truly listens and addresses concerns. Dr. Kurtin is a caring, compassionate and knowledgeable practitioner. Yes, it took a couple of months to get in to see her, but I am so glad that I am in capable hands now that I’m an established patient; well worth the wait. After a recent ER visit I was able to see Dr. Kurtin within a week and received an excellent referral for additional care. In my personal experience, really good Doctors aren’t that easy to come by nowadays, this is one of them. If you’re reading this review, I know you’re searching and I hope this gives you the opportunity to make a more informed choice.

I went there with low expectations and left having a real examination and a smile on my face. I love Dr. Kurtin.

I am 70 year old male , all of my experience with this office is negative when you show up you have to fill out paperwork that should be kept on file. I recently had an upper respiratory infection , I spent two miserable days trying to get a prescription , without even getting a call back , I finally drove to the office and talked to the receptionist , and was told DR Kurtin was out for several days and there was no one else that could help me and she told me to go to urgent care . I know what it takes to make a business run and customer service is very important . Good Luck .....

absolutely terrible front staff

Absolutely terrible and incompetent front staff. Long hold times will not refill medication over the weekend. Messages get lost and doctors never refill medications or send to the correct address.

Dr. Jennifer Kurtin is an outstanding Physician! I’m lucky enough to have her as my primary and her husband Dr. Adam Kurtin as my surgeon.

She is by FAR the best physician I have ever had. So lucky to have found her. The front desk is extremely difficult to get in touch with for appts, billing, other information and I have almost left the office because of it. Also, there have been 1 or 2 mix-ups with referrals and authorizations - a 5K bill due to wrong coding which took me months to track down and straighten out. The back office was extremely rude to me and I actually confronted her nasty attitude which seemed to shock her. She was no help at all in assisting me and couldn't care less.

As a new resident to the area I was concerned about finding a physician to help in maintaining my good health. Dr. Kurtin took time in going over my health history and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dedicated and thorough family Doctor.

I have had to wait 5 months to get a "new" patient appt. A couple of weeks prior to my appt., I was scheduled for surgery on the same day. Tried to call to reschedule but kept getting disconnected. So, we drive from Fort Pierce to Jensen Beach to go in person to reschedule. When I told the assistant my call kept getting disconnected, her response was " oh yeah, it's difficult". Because I was a new patient, first available appt, was in Feb....another 5 months because they only take one new patient a day. That's a very busy doctor for having an empty waiting room! To say that I was upset is an understatement. This probably was a good thing this happened before I took Dr. Kurtin on as my primary physician. I cannot verify that I received treatment from this doctor since I could not get an appointment.

I have seen Dr Kurtin for 3 years. Takes thorough notes real-time using voice to text on a laptop. She listens carefully to concerns and answers questions. Did not order PSA test in my first visit & had to ask on my 2nd visit. Follows up on routine lab tests as needed. I recommend her to new patients for Primary Care

Dr Kurtin is very caring and listens to you. My only suggestion would be to give patients paperwork for blood work à week ahead so she can discuss current situation.

I showed up as scheduled on line. Apparently my appointment was moved to August 6 . I was not informed. The girls behind the desk did not offer to assign me to another doctor . They seemed annoyed that I was a first time patient . All I wanted was a wellness check. I believe my blood pressure is high. It definitely was when I left .

Dr. Kurtin is a wonderful doctor! She is thorough, patient and reviews each lab and radiology test with me. She offers suggestions on how to improve and maintain a healthy life style. What is equally important for me is that she is nonjudgmental and I feel safe talking with her. She is just a great human being. I am grateful for her support!
