Dr. Jennifer Sue Bequette, MD

First question on our first meeting, after the obligatory review of drugs and conditions, was "Is there anything we need to talk about today." At 66, I have had many first visits with doctors and internists... I was in shock when she asked this on our first meeting. And, by the way, subsequent meetings. She also takes time to research and answer questions thrououghly.

My wife and I were patients of Robert Wendland, MD for 20 years before he left to care for elderly parents. He trusted his large Primary Care practice to a doctor whose only experience was small, controlled, slower paced practices at Truman West. She also lost services of Dr. Wendland's Senior RN who was a valuable asset as his lead assistant in insuring a knowledgeable patient conduit and excellent physician/patient interaction. Don't have details on why Dr. Bequette left St. Joseph but after at least three RNs came and left the practice she moved to St. Luke's East Lee's Summit. We moved there for two years but left since she would never perform a digital exam on my prostate, nor would she order a PSA on either blood test she conducted. We were in our upper 70s and that was unconsionable medical procedurre for a senior male. The final instance was her attempt to switch us from Valsartan in favor of Clonidine. This is a drug to which our Cardiologist was vehemently opposed.

Personable, knowledgeable of all your issues, really listens and follows through.

Dr. Bequette is on the cutting edge of medicine & always knows the latest research. She also has excellent people skills and I feel she cares about me as a person! I feel very blessed to have her as my physician.

Loved her bubbley personality very knowledgeable but her nurse takes forever to return calls or send referrals you have to contact her several times
