Dr McCandless is a warm understanding Doctor Who actually talks to his patient. I wish more doctors would listen to their patients.

His staff is excellent and attentive. He is so kind and thorough. He said I don't need a new left hip and I got a shot in my right hip. Pain is much better.

The Doctor conducted a thoughtful and detailed. Exam Communicated to me my condition so I clearly understood the details for a short and long term treatment plan.Bottom line I left the visit pain free with the confidence that a phased treatment would resolve my condition.

Dr McCandless listens to what is happening, and then gives you choices and solutions. I would recommend him to everyone who needs an orthopedic doctor!

Thoroughly answers all of your questions and I had lots. Gave me a great exercise to strengthen my quads pre knee replacement without going to PT so could save all my allotted PT appointments for post knee replacement. Addressed my concerns about my reluctance with full anesthesia by suggesting I was a good candidate for outpatient procedure and gave me the option of using a facility which he often uses and likes very much where spinal blocks are routinely used. You leave the office feeling he is a very caring and extremely knowledgeable and competent physician. I have been putting this operation off for years and I finally actually feel excited about going forward now that I have interacted with Dr. McCandless.

Dr M is fantastic. He replaced my left hip in 2022 and my right hip just last month, 2024. Both surgeries were robotic assisted which was beneficial. At the pre-op appointment he took time to explain the surgery and showed us a model of the hip and how it all works. All the RN’s were great, as was the Anesthesiologist and all the staff. Everyone at Sharp Coronado is so caring and genuinely nice. I’m glad I don’t have another hip, but if I did I’d go back to Dr. McCandless!
