Dr. Jerri Sethna, MD

Dr. Sethna is very compassionate and validating. She helps challenge, reframe, and refocus negative thoughts. She is very knowledgeable with appropriate medication for clients, if needed. She's very attentive and has great active listening skills. I drive 1.5hrs to see her, and it's absolutely worth it!

Jerri and Jimmie Sethna are the best there is! Jerri has been helping my daugher since 2011 and I dread the day she retires. During the first year of my daughters illness, I asked the mental hospital to recommend the best of the best and they recommended Jerri. Jerri was able to stabilized my daughter on the right medications and recommeded other treatments to get my daughter back. It was very scary, but Jerri also keep me well educated on each situation and follow-ups were often. Jimmie has done an excellent job and I strongly recommend him if you are concerned about the daily wellness of your love one. He works with my daughter to build her self worth and happiness which is so important. If you are concerned about self gratitude for yourself, you need a foo foo Doctor that will make you feel good. Illnesses like these are not to be taken lightly as well as the care givers that are prescribing the meds and treatments. I highly recommend Jerri and Jimmie for your loved one.

Having worked in the medical industry for over 20 years myself it’s nice to know that people like Dr Sethna exist. It’s not an easy job, and sometimes patients are not able to understand exactly what she does and may even complain on chat boards like this when the patient who complains most are the ones who need help the most. I pray that those of you who need help get it and understand that wait times are to be expected and that it takes time for Dr Sethna to help you. Years of trauma can’t be repaired over night. Keep your head up and remember that you are going to get through whatever it is & Dr Sethna can shine light on your unique life experiences to better help you understand yourself and your world around you.

Great doctor !

I have been seeing Dr. Sethna since 2013, yes it is hard to get through to the office, but I always get a call back. I love her so much when I moved out of Houston I refused to change doctors. I drive over an hour to see her now, I will not change as long as she is on my insurance. She got me out of a really dark place and brought me back into the light.

I love Dr. Sethna! She is the first psychiatrist I've had who is completely invested in my getting better. She listens to all my concerns every visit and always allows me to ask as many questions as I need. When I've become overwhelmed and wanted to give up, SHE kept going. She is committed to my recovery. The only negative is her receptionist. Sheila does NOT return phone calls. I always have to leave multiple messages and only get a call back when I go through the answering service.

Horrible experience with this doctor. Would not return any of my calls. Could not ever get a hold of her or any live person. When I did speak to her it was brief, she did. Not have time, and was short to listen and combative. The mental industry needs help and this is not the way to conduct business nor handle families in crisis!

Dr. Sethna has a great bedside manner, but when messages are left, getting someone to return your call is very difficult.
