Professional, knowledgeable and personable

This woman and/or her staff completely mismanaged my appointments and caused me to (for several days) be unable to access and fill medications that I needed and that she had prescribed to me. When I called to resolve the issue, I was met with holding times of hours until she went out of office for the day (so I had to wait on hold during my own workday for hours and then just got ghosted when she wanted to go home). Awful, impersonal, and careless.

I scheduled a visit with this provider at NYU with 6 months in advance. I have hyperpigmentation and hair loss. While waiting to be seen by this provider, the nurse came and informed me that the provider was only going to address one of the two medical issues, and that I needed to schedule another appointment. I explained that, months ahead of this visit, I had communicated in a survey what my medical issues were and that I never got this feedback. She left and discussed this with the provider, and then the manager came to tell me that that was the final decision of the provider. The whole situation was mindblowing, I have never encountered denial of medical care in my entire life. At that point, I had only distrust about this provider and about her ability to provide high quality medical care. She did not even see me to explain the situation! Incredibly dissmisive.

I have a severe issue with chronic cysts. I needed to have at least 1-2 surgeries a year before I met with Dr Garelik. She gave me advice that several well experienced dermatologists did not and the problem is now 90% better. My wife saw her 2 years ago and she identified a melanoma that her previous dermatologist did not in multiple examinations. She is just awesome.

Dr. Garelik and her nurse were very attentive, kind, and made me feel comfortable. I had to have shave biopsies done in three locations and Dr. Garelik and her nurse explained what would happen and eased any anxiety I had about the procedure. I would recommend Dr. Garelik to family and friends.

Dr. Garelik is a wonderful dermatologist. She is very thorough and, on my first visit, identified a mole that turned out to be severely atypical and laden with melanomic cysts, whereas other dermatologists had missed it. I am grateful for her attention and expertise.

I found Dr. Garelik knowledgeable and helpful. She provided information no one else has been able to give me. She took time to explain things including options. She provided a thorough exam.

She is not best listener seemed to be rushed and at times trying to explain the obvious

The billing department is a nightmare. It is unfortunate because I like Dr. Garelik. They were over an hour behind in appointments but I was willing to overlook that until the billing department got involved.

I visited dr. Garelik for thinning hair. She barely asked me any questions and spent very few minutes providing me any consultation

Dr. Garelik was fantastic- came in very friendly and made me feel comfortable right away. She asked great questions, answered all of MY questions and was thorough yet efficient. She made sure she I had all the information I needed and made me fee at ease. I will definitely be going to her again!

Dr. Garelick was very thorough and informative as well as compassionate.

Visited for a rash. She was in the room 8 minutes. Did not touch me or really bother to look at my body or do a thorough examination. Did not ask me questions or really listen. Waste of time.
