This provider completely ignored me when I brought up concerns around a particular procedure. I tried to reach him for 6+ weeks in order to have a conversation about my concerns leading up to my appointment and ended up having to file a grievance in order to get a response. Being a chronic pain patient is a very vulnerable place to be and providers in this field should do a better job of making their patients feel heard and cared for.

Dr. Bertola gave me an epidural spinal injection that hit a nerve. I could barely walk 20 yards for a few weeks. It took me over a year to recover. He completely ignored my complaint rather than help me deal with the problem.

Dr, Bertola was a no nonsense kind of Doctor. He was not patronizing or condescending, he spoke to me in a straight forward manner. He communicated very well throughout the procedure. I was very apprehensive about going to him due to his low score but that was not my experience with him at all. Doctor Bertola has always handled refills for me so this was a knew area for our interactions. He was even better under this setting. I had steroid injections for my bulging discs.
