When I first saw Dr. Chai three years ago, she was efficient and took her time. However, last year, she seemed preoccupied and focussed on her tablet; not listening to me. She ordered many tests, but did not discuss them with me unless I provided her the printed results. Last year I became very ill, and when I called her office for a video conference, she did not listen and prescribed medicine that did not help. I became seriously ill and had to go to the hospital emergency room. The next time I saw the doctor, she did not want to review the many tests the hospital performed. I felt that my primary care doctor abandoned me in my time of need. Needless to say, I have found a new doctor that reviewed all of my medical tests.

No recommended for older patients
I would not recommend this doctor, especially for older clients. Our experience did not end well, if you understand my meaning. The lack of concern for her patients shows after a few months under her care, in our situation.

WOW, I WAS SHOCKED…...
After being with Dr. Chai for almost 15 years I was shocked in the manner she belittled and degraded me in front of staff as if I were a child. As I explained to her I misread the antibiotic instructions, and asked her to repeat with a different medication, she went ballistically berserk. She started yelling at me that I should pay attention to the medication instructions, and repeated saying this 5 or 6 times in front of her staff and patients waiting in the front office. One of those persons was my wife who over heard the entire ordeal. All I said was that I was a 71 year old man who had for the first time made a mistake, and not to treat me in this manner. Many times I heard her treat elderly patients in the same fashion. You could over hear her voice from one exam room to the other. Several times I could hear some patients in tears. I had never known this side of Dr. Chai before, and she blew me away with this vicious attack. I then decided it was time to change doctor.

Dr. Chair has anger management issues…. – Dec 08, 2023

I don't recommended Dr Chai's clinic for you. Here is my experience: 1. Dr Chai doesn't respect the appointment time. My appointment was 2:30PM. I arrived at 2PM for filling out the patient information. However, the doctor didn't show up until 3:35. 2. The front desk people lack professional training and behave very rude. In the patient forms, there is one form for "Authorization of Release Medical Information". I don't want release my medical information to any other organization, nor to be released to Dr. Chai from my previous medical treatment since I came here for regular physical exam only. I asked the front desk not sign the Authorization Form, but I was told that I had to sign a blank Authorization Form without patience to explain why. As a compromise, I marked NO in the form and signed my name in the form. The front desk got the form and closed the window of front desk rudely with a "pong". I was shocked. 3. When I saw Dr Chai, I told her my experience and request an apology from her front desk. Dr Chai asked her front desk to say sorry for me, but her front desk refused. Then surprisingly Dr Chai blamed me for arguing about signing the blank authorization form. What a strange clinic!

Best primary care I have ever had. She takes the time to listen and help. I have never felt like a number here or a copay, like I have at other doctors. I always know that she has my family’s interest at heart.

After seeing Chai for almost 10 years, she has become what all my past doctors had turned into. She's too busy to bother to listen to you, you have to repeat yourself every visit because she has forgotten, & ultimately is about the money now. You make payment plan arrangements with office manager, but then she refuses to see you until balance is paid in full & you find out 2 hours before you're supposed to come in. It's very sad & frustrating b/c she is a good doctor. She has HEAVY staff turnover & you can tell they don't get paid much because you get what you pay for. Phones go unanswered forever. Now it's hard to get in when you really need to be seen. I have to find a new doctor now because loyalty to patients is ALL LOST

Dr. Chai is an excellent doctor, however, she has incompetent people working in her office. How they speak on the phone and even in person comes across rude. I am considering finding a new doctor because I can never get ahold of Chai unless I go in.

Dr. Chai is good medical provider. The missing three starts are due to her office, which reflects poorly on her. Making appointments is difficult due to unanswered voicemails and unreturned messages. You may need to drive to her office to speak to someone, as telephone calls will go unanswered. She either has incompetent people working for her or she is understaffed.

Former Patient in Arlington – Dec 08, 2018

On July 6, 2017, I needed to schedule an appointment because of a possible urinary tract infection. The person who called back said there were no appointments until August. Since that was almost a month away, I decided to change to another PCP. Very poor patient relations. I would not recommend to family and friends.

I have seen Dr. Chai for almost 8 years now & I love her & the girls in the office! You may have a little bit of a wait but it's only because she takes the extra time to talk with you. She listens & has helped me for many, many years! Catherine in the office is the sweetest person, always calls you back. One of the many things I love is that if I'm hospitalized, Dr. Chai will make calls to Arlington Memorial (so I never have to worry if my doctor seeing me there is in or out of network)! ??

Dr. Chai spent time discussing multiple conditions with me. Changed my meds for diabetes and asthma. I have seen improvements in symptoms of both. Her office staff were friendly and efficient. Only negative about visit, they were very busy and I had to wait quite awhile.
