Dr. Joe Gamboa, MD

Went to see Dr. Gamboa for horrible pain I experience. He did one blood test to check for RA, told me it was negative. I asked him what we do now and he explained nothing as RA tests were negative. I asked what else I could be checked for, knowing RA results were negative, and he responded that I should try swimming. I was in tears, suffering in pain, frustrated with the lack of care, and he asked me if it would make me feel better if he entered a diagnosis of Fibromyalgia on my medical chart!! What kind of professional does this?! So now that diagnosis has been trailing me without any substantial clinical criteria to support it.

SAW THIS MD BACK IN 2019 FAILED TO DIAGNOSE WITH A RARE DISEASE. I'VE BEEN HAVING THE SAME SYMPTOMS FOR OVER 10 YEARS. DID THE SAME BLOOD WORK SAME RESULTS JUST FOUND FROM A NEW DOCTOR THAT I HAVE THIS RARE AUTOIMMUNE DISEASE. THE PAIN I WENT THROUGH.

Dr Gamboa is upbeat and encouraging. He listens well.

The diagnosis is correct A great doctor

Dr. Gamboa was very attentive, kind, and thorough. He explained things well, including our next steps, and he made it clear that I was also an important part of the decision making. I appreciated his more collaborative approach where he discussed things with me instead of simply telling me. I saw a different rheumatologist before this who was dismissive and unclear, so I'm glad I was referred to Dr. Gamboa!

He explained the test results to me in real terms and made sure that I understood them. He answered my questions and actually listened to me.

I had my visit back on Aug 30, 2021. I just received a bill on March 12, 2022 from the hospital lab work charges because Torrance Memorial have been waiting from Dr. Gamboa office to submit information about the reason for the lab work. I was chasing this bill around with the Torrance Memorial and Gamboa office which as a patient that made the co-pay already the office is not willing to help with this matter. Asking me to come in with the statement.

Dr. Gamboa is great about listening to my concerns and giving me effective advice to control pain connected to R.A. I am doing well under his care.

He took the time to explain all my labs and discussed the concerns I had and we made a plan for the future

Dr. Gamboa is awesome, super friendly, professional, very patient, and willing to answer any questions. He is very thorough and doesn't rush the visit. I love having the option of a virtual visit, it's so much more convenient.

He is very thorough and easy to talk to. He takes his time and makes sure all of your questions are answered.

He's nice but still has not informed me of xray(taken in his office) results or explanation for pain after 7 weeks. Nor has his office/staff responded to 3 separately placed phone calls/messages during the past 6 weeks.

Appointment was at 9 am and waited to 10:10 am. Too long of wait. This Doctor has terrible bedside manner. He did a great job of making me feel that I should not have made an appointment with him and that I was wasting his time. He did not address my health concerns nor did he ask about my arthritis problem. He was great to tell me that "someone out there" should find out what my medical conditions.

DR. Gamboa is very personable and attentive. He is also a great listener and thorough in his explanations of lab results and possible courses of action.

He's very down to earth and intelligent! He explained everything and answer all my questions!
