Hope he has improved
He ruined my sons eye in detached retina surgery several years ago. I hope he has improved, but with three star rating, probably not. See another doctor.

I have been seeing Dr. Herring over a year now and he is great! He took the time to explain all of my issues as well as answered all of my questions. His staff could not have been more professional and friendly. I would highly recommend Dr. Herring to anyone that needs to see an Ophthalmology specialist!

If I hadn’t found another doctor I would be blind in my left eye. Waited about 2 hours I exam room and given injection into eye WITHOUT adequate anesthesia. 2nd appt: left in exam room for hours, with no one checking on me. When he finally appeared, he told me my blinking had torn my cornea. So after another painful injection, he bandages my eye and sent me on my way. With proper anesthesia and correct technique, eye injections do not hurt. Another doc cured my wet macular!

Great doctor great staff. Took lots of time explaining what was wrong with my eye. Sorry other patients not very happy but not the case for me..Will never see another eye specialist other than Dr Herring. Can't say enough about how happy I am with both Dr Herring and his great staff. He had lots of patients to see and he apologized to me for the long wait.Great Doctors have lots of patients to see so the wait time is a bit long. But if you want the BEST DOCTORS YOU HAVE TO WAIT.

He is very rushed and rough. He did not prepare me for his procedure by explaining what he was about to do. Herring has a cattle call business and treats patients like a faceless number. Today I was there for a 3:20 follow-up and still waiting after 40 minutes. I WILL NOT BE BACK, there are other options in Jackson.

After 2 retina surgeries on right eye, I had numbness, swelling, & slurred speech occur a month after the 2nd surgery. I called the office & they did not seem concerned; I was afraid something had gone wrong the right eye or something more serious on that side. Dr. Herring,"Your retina is fine, pressure is a little high, but ok, so I do not know what to tell you about your problem." Trip to ER $$$ -determined I had an allergic reaction to eye drops prescribed for pressure. #changed doctors
