Dr. Joel Pleeter, MD

Awful beside manner and not attentive to patient concerns. Aside from the long wait times, Dr. Pleeter is not a doctor you would want during pregnancy or for birth. He is dismissive and does not have time for questions. This is a doctor who 'does his own thing.' During birth, he did not explain any of his decisions. My wishes were irrelevant and my comprehension of what was going on was not even an after thought. The risks of procedures were not explained and I was not given any choices. He placed enormous pressure on me to sign consent forms. If I did not agree to the procedures he insisted on, he refused to deliver the baby. In his own words, ' This is what I am going to do right now. If you do not agree, I can leave and a resident will deliver you. It will be someone you've never met, someone who is inexperienced. Is that what you want?' He never followed up on me or checked up on me after the procedures. No one from his office ever reached out.

My visits are always quick. I had my two babies with Dr. Pleeter, he is the best. He respects people and their time. I highly recommend him.
