Dr. Kratz was very approachable, knowledgeable.
I had a pre-procedure zoom visit with Dr. Kratz and his team with everything explained clearly and all questions answered completely. The day of the procedure I met many members The Care team as well as Dr. Kratz. Again, each member, as well as the doctor answered all my questions, explained everything very thoroughly, and were very reassuring. The best part was that Dr. Kratz was able to Remove a much smaller piece of my long than originally thought. this was the best possible outcome, and I was thrilled that Dr. Katz took the more difficult approach to minimize tissue removal while still achieving the same outcome. Post procedure Was more of the same. The post-op nurse monitored me every moment and members of the team also came to check on me. My One night in the hospital was very comfortable. I had some pain which was addressed very quickly and adequately. Ed RN on the shift and Chris RN on the dayshift were so kind and attentive. I just cannot say enough good things about all.

Dr Kratz isn’t just an amazing surgeon and incredibly knowledgeable, but he is kind and has a wonderful bed-side manner. I would insist that anyone I love going through lung cancer seek him for treatment.

I appreciate greatly the daily contacts!
Thankfully Dr. Kratz “assisted” but was not needed to eradicate any cancer from my esophagus. And still, I am receiving daily notices that are constructively guiding me through the recovery process. Thank you and bless you.

Amazing team
From the first appointment, I experienced kindness, proactiveness, and active listening of my issues. I had been dealing with health issues since April and saw different doctors at different hospital systems with no help. Once I found Dr. Kratz and his team, there was a plan in motion for me to get better. Each day in the hospital after my procedure either Dr.Kratz, another doctor or PA would visit and ask how I was doing, and it meant a lot. I would definitely recommend Dr. Kratz and team to anyone I know with a similar health issue.

Dr Kratz went above and beyond!
I had a complicated procedure. Dr Kratz was available to me prior whenever I had questions. Day of he was so kind and reassuring. He managed to do my procedure Robotically, rather than open, even though it meant much more time and effort for his and his team. That meant more than words. Within a week my breathing and oxygen levels improved significantly. My family and I are extremely grateful for all that he has done to help me.

Dr Kratz recently performed a left lower lung lobectomy on me. I'm a 69 y.o. active female. I cannot express how grateful and confident that I was in the hands of the most competent and compassionate surgeon in the country. His quiet demeanor belies his skills and knowledge as a surgeon and medical doctor. Cancer and impending surgery is a scarey situation for any patient. I felt as comfortable as one can possibly feel putting the outcome of my life and future w Dr. Kratz and his team. The surgery went well and healing has been as projected. Dr. Kratz's team has also been amazing...knowledgeable and realistic in responding to my questions and requests in a timely professional manner. I recommend Dr. Kratz w the utmost confidence.

Very accomplished and professional team
Dr Kratz and his highly skilled team were an excellent choice for me. As an active 65 year old, I was very interested in quickly returning to “normal” activity levels following my VATS Lobectomy. The minimally invasive surgical procedure with daily follow-up activity reminders have allowed me to make remarkable progress towards meeting this goal far more quickly than I thought possible. More work for me to do here, but making great progress. My experience with his team and my exposure to their competence and their commitment to providing exceptional care has truly been remarkable. What’s even more impressive is they did it over the holidays! Thank you and your team, Dr. Kratz for showing great compassion and understanding of my condition and objectives. I’m very pleased with the results.

Amazing
I have only good things to say about Dr Kratz. He and his team helped prepare me for surgery, explaining everything in language I understood and answering all my questions. He and his team visited me in the hospital each day after surgery. His nurses were available to address questions and concerns during the healing process after I went home. Everyone was completely lovely, very informed and informative and cared for my well-being as a whole person.

Skilled, patient, present
Well, what do you want in a surgeon? Dr. Kratz is a very calm man whose demeanor projects confidence. He has a touch of the old school in that he is humbled by what he is able to accomplish. His parting words were that 'it was honor to be of help'. In my case, the surgery went without mishap and I've had had a rapid recovery devoid of any significant discomfort.

Dr. Kratz is the BEST doctor/surgeon!
Dr. Kratz was very engaging, thoughtful, kind and took time to meet with me and my husband before I began all my scans and then the day of the surgery came to chat with us before he started and also afterwards. I can't say enough good things about him!
