Saved My Life
Dr. Abad is one of what seems to be a dying breed of doctors. He takes the time to actually get to know you and your condition, understand your concerns, and address everything thoroughly. He would take calls during his personal time to answer additional questions my family and I had. He would call on weekends to check up on me post-surgery. All of that is aside from him being a phenomenally skilled surgeon. Him and his staff are on top of patient care 100% of the time to ensure your recovery is as smooth as possible. Bottomline is that he saved my life... and I am not 100% certain that would have been the case with any doctor. This man has a heart of gold and anyone would be lucky to have him as their doctor.

Terrible doctor
My dad has melanoma and needed surgery immediately. He made him wait two weeks because he wanted to work with a paritcular plastic surgeon that was going on vacation and wasn't even covered under my dad's insurance. Now his cancer has progressed to stage 3. Do not go to this doctor.

Dr. Abad is an outstanding surgeon! He performed a very intense and long surgery on one of my family members and the outcome was remarkable. We had 100% confidence in his expertise and as a result I believe it sped up patient recovery time. Pre-surgery Dr. Abad spend a lot of time educating us on the surgery, risks and expected outcome. He was very patient and answered all of our questions. He is warm, caring and genuine! Post-surgery the follow-up by Dr. Abad and his team was exceptional

Dr. Abad is treating our brother, a pancreatic cancer survivor of over 5 years. It did reoccur last fall and Dr. Abad has my brother’s total confidence. He successfully removed the tumor in a very complex surgery because of the altered gastro configuration from my brother’s original life-saving surgery from 5 years ago. My brother is recovering and Dr. Abad has been a comfort and is always forthcoming about information that guides medical decisions. He is a gifted doctor and a special man.

Quite simple Dr Abad follows the hipocrattic OATH, Northwestern is more interested in the MONEY.(rumor has it that he's leaving could that be the reason) Dr. Abad is a unique Doctor in today's world of emotionally illerate Doctors. He did a remarkable surgery for me and made feel that I could trust him implicitly. I have great respect for him and I regard him as my friend as well.

Dr Abad came highly recommended from my internist for a large liver tumor. I felt quite confident in him after meeting him and having him explain what the surgery and recovery. He is kind, caring, compassionate and focused. He patiently listened to my questions and answered them. His staff has also been kind and welcoming from the moment from the moment I walked into his office. My surgery went well and the home health care he arranged has been good.

I really can't recommend Dr Abad enough. I had a scary unknown situation and knew I needed surgery. I went to Dr Abad for diagnosis. He saw me right away, was sincere and caring, answered all of my questions in plain language. I instantly felt better after our visit and knew what to expect. Wonderful bedside manner! As anticipated, I needed his services for surgery and he scheduled me in right away. I felt like I was in good hands the entire time and I'm healing well without issues. Thank you!!!
