Takes his time.
Sent me to a pain Medicine Dr. and I had to cancel because he never sent my report to my primary Dr. 11 days went by and nothing not even a call from the office and evetime I called the office all they said well all I can do is give him the message. One Dr. I will never see again. Imagine if he can't write a report imagine the care you would get. First and last time.

I was incredibly impressed after visiting Dr Cantando. His office staff was very professional and efficient which was a fine lead up to my appointment. I felt very comfortable discussing my issues with him and found his responses and recommendations to be well thought out and easily understandable. I would gladly recommend him to anyone that needs an exceptional nuerosurgeon.

Love this guy! He is/was my neurosurgeon in 2015 for crushed nerve resulting in excruciating pain. I am also a doctor that worked with him occasionally. My only complaint is that he sent me to Dr. Porro, a quack pain management doctor who appeared to cater to the addicted. I saw him three times and his injections into my neck NEVER made the pain less. Finally, I took it upon myself to find a new pain management doctor name Dr. Geraldo Zloczover on S. Congress Ave., who proved to be a God send. After only a single attempt to inject anesthesia into my neck, he stated that no needle could get between the crushed bones. That was a Tuesday and I called Dr. Cantando, who performed surgery on that Friday. The best guys ever! So Dr. C, please do not send any other patients to Porro - he is a quack. As soon as I awoke from the operation, my pain was gone! I now have a metallic plate in my neck to fuse three vertebral levels. But Dr. Z, I would not have lasted thru this without you.

Not a fan of Dr. Cantando. I was given wrong prescription. When questioned about this mistake he was quite cavalier with his excuse. I did some further research on him. There are many comments are of the negative tone about him. He also operates out of JFK. Not one the better hospitals in the area.

Dr. Cantando Is a wonderful and compassionate Surgeon who truly cares for the Well-Beings of his patients. My Mother had lost her ability to walk from one day to the next. He didn't immediately perform the surgery as my mom is young and he felt that she could regain the strength in her legs through psysical therapy to start walking again. After doing psysical therapy, she started to feel she was regaining strength but her legs began to decline again and it became apparent that she need the surgery. He performed a spinal fusion on my Mother's back and after the surgery, my mom began to walk again. Dr. Cantando has been amazing through this journey and we can't thank him enough for what he did for my mom. We will forever be grateful to Dr. Cantando and if you ever need a neurosurgeon, we highly recommend him and his Team. Even the other surgeons in his Team are amazing and sympathetic. Thank you Dr. Cantando

It’s been 16 months since my lumbar surgery with Dr. Cantando. My spine feels fabulous! It’s great to feel as though at times I almost forgot all the horrible pain I had endured for so long. My birth defect made my spinal canal so narrow that there was almost no space. Dr. Cantando released my nerve root compressions, made a new spinal pathway and I feel amazing! ?? Keep in mind that my insurance denied my surgery in my home town of Vero Beach. Thank God. The Orthopedic surgeon there had called this a life changing surgery, I would have to go on disability, have rids, pins, screws and a cage!!!! Dr. Cantando took his time and did my entire surgery without ANY metal at all! I’m so grateful!!!

Dr. Cantando really helped put my wife and I at ease when we found out that she was diagnosed with acromegaly, a macroadenoma pituitary tumor. He answered all of our questions clearly and concisely. He helped smooth out the entire journey leading up to surgery. The process was daunting, yet Dr. Cantando's experience, professionalism, friendly and calm disposition really assisted us through the process. We would definitely recommend him and his team (ENT Surgeon Dr. Archilla) to anyone.

Do your homework, he destroyed the level operated on in my lumbar spine. He sold it as a simple surgery and no bones would have to be cut, a 1 to 1 1/2"incision. He ended up making a 3 1/2" incision, hemilaminectomy, facectomy since he took the wrong approach for a far lateral herniation. Facet ended up fracturing and needed additional surgeries, left with severe sciatica. Wish I never let him operate on me.

Dr.Cantando performed a pituitary mass removal operation on my husband just the other day. I can't say enough good things about this doctor & his team! Pre-surgery, he was so informative, so professional, so personal. As a family, we felt we knew exactly what was going on, what to expect, & what were the possible outcomes. We feel blessed that Dr. Cantando was the doctor on call when we entered the emergency room, & that he ended up performing the brain surgery. Have only good things to say.
