Best Neurosurgeon in Lexington, Kentucky
I have had the privilege to work with Dr. Gilbert at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky as a Registered Nurse and as a patient. He did my back surgery in 1993 and he has recently helped me after a vehicle accident in 2022. I’ve always trusted him and respected his integrity. Thank you Dr. Gilbert for all you do to help me during my difficult times. Carolyn Beaty

My Hero!
I have been seeing this Amazing Doctor for many years! He has performed surgeries on me since 2010! He is the Only Doctor who I trust to perform Neurosurgical procedures! Doctor Gilbert and his amazing staff worked with me to see if i was a good candidate for a pain pump implant. that was in 2015 fast forward July 26 of 2023 Doctor Gilbert performed a pain pump replacement . I have been extremely fortunate to be able to get relief from the implant going from high doses of Oxycontin along with Oxycodone for breakthrough pain relief to having less than ten milligrams of a combination of narcotic and a numbing solution to give me much needed pain relief! Although I will never be pain free but i'm so grateful to be able to have enough relief from the pain that I am able to function!

After a severe low back injury in 1994 Dr Gilbert performed surgery on me. The surgery gave me great pain relief and I was able to function close to normal for over 20 years, when I injured it again. Dr Gilbert performed surgery on me again and here I am 19 years later, at 71 years old able to do anything most healthy men of my age can do, and with little to no pain. I ride my bicycle 12 miles at least 5 mornings a week for 12 miles, play water volleyball at least 3 times per week, and do light workouts in the gym 3 times a week. Dr Gilbert definitely gave me my quality of life back. Thank you, Dr Gilbert.

I am a 66 year old male that had a back injury in 1993 that wouldn’t heal. Dr Gilbert did my first back surgery in 1995. It really helped me and I was able to function almost normal for about 20 years; without any pain meds. He did a second back surgery on me in 2016 and after about 9 months of healing I am totally back pain free; and I do not require any pain meds. In my opinion, Dr Gilbert is the best spine surgeon, period. Thank You, so much Dr Gilbert.

I really liked Dr. Gilbert. He asked me several questions about my back and looked over my MRI with me and explained what he saw. The office is very laid back and I liked that. Super nice office staff. Yes I had to wait about 30 minutes but I have to at other doctors offices.

I just met Dr Gilbert and was impressed with the time he spent with me reviewing MRI and myelogram. We discussed all options for my deteriorating lower back. We discussed a less invasive option to stabilize my back and keep my mobility versus fusion with rods and screws. I will trust this man with my back in two weeks on the surgery table.

Hes Awful!!!! He prescribes suboxin on the side to make extra money. He has no clue about addiction or how to work with addicts. I failed one uribe test in 8 months an he kicked me out. I had only seen him twice. I failed cause i took sum adderall for energy, I have to work. 95% of suboxin patients have no jobs. Not everybody can lay around in Moms trailer sucking on a suboxin strip. I was weak once an he dismissed me with no conversation. What is a neurosurgeon doing prescribing suboxin

Avoid! My appointment was for 830. Dr. Gilbert came walking in the office at 9:35. I saw him about 15 minutes later, and he spent all of 3 minutes with me, looking at a 2 year old MRI and talking about how back surgery had been approved for my kind of degeneration. Then he asked me if I would like a steroid shot. WTF your the doctor, why don''t you tell me if I would like one!?! His inattention should and may be criminal. If you want drugs this is your guy, if you want help, go elsewhere.
