Advocate for yourself
2 years ago I saw Dr Ginetti for the extreme pain of my right hip, he reviewed my MRI and had a flippant attitude about the results, saying that it’s a chronic condition that will wax and wain , giving absolutely no recommendation to alleviate the pain. Presently the pain is unbearable at times, I’m unable to walk a reasonable distance without stopping. I’ve tried PT, aqua therapy, massage therapy and nothing is helping. I asked my PCP if he would recommend another Dr and he said that I cannot get a referral for another Dr within the Network , he said that I would have to go outside of the network for a second opinion. So I will go outside of the Network for a second opinion, but in the meantime I will see Dr Ginetti again, and address the pain that I am also having in my left hip, that was replaced 15 years ago by Dr Drinkwater, who is a gem!

Dr. Ginnetti replaced my hip in 2017. My recovery was quick and I have since been able to take up activities that I hadn't done in years. Immediately after surgery I had none of the hip pain I'd had before, and the pain I did have was just due to the surgery. He's very knowledgeable and will explain things in more detail or different terms if you ask. If you don't ask questions, how is he to know that you don't understand? I'd heard so much about the posterior approach being superior, and discussed that with him, but he explained the differences between anterior, lateral, and posterior approaches, and learned the lateral approach was best for me. I did my own homework before and after my initial appointment, and feel it's important to advocate for oneself. He wasn't all warm and fuzzy and sympathetic, which was fine, because what I wanted was a good surgeon who had a good record and the willingness and ability to address my concerns. I highly recommend Dr. Ginnetti.

Dr. Ginnetti did a full hip replacement on me last November. The outcome was excellent. I feel like a new person. Dr. Ginnetti was a no nonsense , straight forward, sort of guy which I was absolutely fine with. I have recommended him to multiple friends and am 100% satisfied with the care and attention I got from him and his team

Dr. Ginnetti acted as if he could care less about my knee pain. His PA, Mike, was great, as was the rest of his staff; but due to Ginnetti's attitude, I have changed physicians.

He did not meet my standards for a surgeon, he was rude, discourteous, he had his own agenda, and appeared to have no time for me or my questions. The time which wasn't every long , he didn't even touch me or examine me , that isn't someone I can go into surgery with, you should be in a good frame of mind when you go into surgery, and with this Dr. that would not be true for me. This is why I am looking for another surgeon.

Dr. Ginnetti performed a partial knee replacement. He used hardware which contained a large amount of nickel, despite the fact that we had discussed my nickel allergy and it was documented in my medical record. My body reacted immediately to the metal. I experienced tremendous swelling, a serious infection and severe pain. He continued to deny that I was experiencing an allergic reaction. He was arrogant and very immature. I have since had a successful total replacement in the same knee.
