It’s unfortunate that when hospitalized in the PICU- there is only one physician you are given. This physician knows this and takes advantage of the fact that you are at his mercy. He has total disregard for the patient and family’s beliefs and never took the time to listen or understand where we are coming from. He chose to take total control of conversations with our family and even talked about himself during much of his dialogue. He used threatening tones and used guilt to try to push us to do things we were hesitant about doing with regard to the treatment of our child. It was a terrible experience to be under his care while our child was very ill.
