Dr. John Hatheway, MD

Went there for neck and spine pain! I was telling him my symptoms of my neck and spine pain and said I had sore spots and one was in the muscle of my arm!! Then he said I had a torn rotator cuff and that my arm was 10x worse than my neck so he had me go get an MRI of my shoulder and there was no torn rotator cuff! Wasted insurance money!!!! Said they took United Healthcare Duel complete and then sent me a bill for 147.58 which I should not have to pay!!!! And it’s on their website they take my insurance!!! What a joke!!!!!!!!

WENT FOR NECK PAIN AND WITHOUT EVEN AN X-RAY HE SAID IT WAS A ROTOR CUFF PROBLEM. PAID FOR AN MRI AND HE WAS TOTALLY WRONG. HE STILL CHARGED ME FOR WASTING MY TIME

Dr Hatheway, as well as his staff (Adrian & Julie) are very professional but also very warm and welcoming. Dr Hatheway is extremely cautious as well as experienced in every procedure that he does. I have never worried about my health or safety pertaining to any procedure where he is in charge.

He listens to the problems I have. He doesn’t rush me or dismiss anything I have to say. He makes me feel comfortable.

I have been seeing Dr Hathaway for over 12 years, and through his pain management options, I’ve been physically able to continue an active lifestyle of traveling, walking and enjoying my hobbies with minimal to no pain.

My pain was evaluated quickly and thoroughly. A diagnosis was made and treatment began immediately. Staff is friendly and helpful.

I’ve been a patient of DR John Hathaway for about twenty years and I think he and his staff are the best in the business. They are so helpful if you have to change something they are always willing to help the girls on the phone are so nice. Yes the have people leave and have had been behind at times but are working hard. They are back on track all I can say is they are fantastic. Dr Hathaway has always had my best interest at heart he has informed me of all of the options I have way back when he implanted my first stimulator . I knew then he was going to be my doctor. I have had it changed I broke a wire when I fell, he fixed it when the surgeon doing my back surgery cut the wires he fixed that to . He is fantastic I have a pain pump he did about 6-7 years ago I have never doubted him. last year he put a PNS in my right leg what a relief my pain went from a 8 to a 2 . Now he is doing my left leg and I know he will do he very best, I would not go to anyone else I think he is the best!

Look at the reviews. There are 8 5-star reviews posted in 3 days. They are lies. Everything about Northwest Pain Care is all about him. Not you. Don't waste your life going here. There are many other places for pain in Spokane. Don't let him fool you into believing him. He simply doesn't care about your pain. He cares about himself

I have been a patient of Dr. Hatheways for the last 20 years! He is a very good doctor. I always have a pleasant experience when in the office and his staff is very wonderful and kind!! He has changed my life without having to be on pain medications!! Would highly recommend Dr. Hatheway!!

Dr Hatheway and his team are excellent. I have had several procedures over the past 5 years and all have been successful.

I have had back problems for over 20 years including 3 back surgeries. Needless to say, I have chronic back pain. Dr Hatheway review my medical history and set up a treatment plan. His plan is the first time that my pain is manageable. He does an extremely thorough physical exam and zeros in on what will help my specific problems. He, his providers, and all the staff make me feel like I matter, as well as they are all empathetic to my pain. Dr Hatheways experience in the pain field has made me feel comfortable with whatever he is recommending for my pain. Above all, he is not a 'pill pusher' and finds other ways to manage my pain. I would highly recommend him to anyone that is dealing with any kind of chronic, or acute pain. At times the wait for the appointment can be long, but he spends as much time as what is needed for each person which I appreciate.

Dr. Hatheway is an excellent physician who provides state of the art level care

I’ve been going to Dr Hatheway for years. He’s very knowledgeable, caring and will find a solution to my back and feet issues. I highly recommend him.

The doctor recommended a steroid injection to see if that works on my very severe low back pain and electrical shocks down my legs. Hopefully it gives relief and I can walk better again. The staff is friendly and kind. The doctor did the procedure quickly and professionally. Everything is very sanitary. There has not been much opportunity to speak with him directly as there seems to be an overwhelming number of patients and he’s extremely busy. I would like more time to have questions answered but the job got done and we will see if this works for me.

Dr. Hatheway is not only knowledgeable, but he’s approachable! I felt very comfortable with asking questions and discussing my concerns. He and his staff are very caring and giving! I believe my pain care is in good hands with Dr. Hatheway and his team!

I have been a patient of this office for over nine years. 2 physician assistants recently quit, so the office is having significant difficulties. Dr. Hathaway is the only doctor left, which means the only doctor to write prescriptions and provide care. Stay away! Hope they get their act together - the rest of the staff is great.

Went to the clinic for six years but saw the PA who was wonderful. My treatment was working. Wasn’t informed when PA left but met Hatheway for the first time. He completely back stabbed the PA, insisted that I have additional tests I didn’t need and I that he was completely changing my treatment to something I had already declined. He interrupted me, didn’t even attempt to understand my needs and did not listen or seem to really care. Arrogant and honestly even hostile. Horrible experience. I will never go back.

I have been coming to this office for several years. Everyone is so helpful and thorough. They are the best in town.

Started seeing him in 2016 for back pain that I had been dealing with for about 20 years. He just kept suggesting different things, tried some, nothing worked. Finally after 5 years said there wasn't anything he could do and sent me on my way. Very disappointed as I had heard all the good things he has done for others. Kept sending me to therapists, other pain doctors etc, spinal cord stimulator was worthless. Very disappointed! Still suffering from constant back pain.
