Great doctor but service and care gone downhill.
When Dr. Horinger was at the Willoughby office his staff was friendly, and got me in quickly when it was urgent. He was very thorough. It changed when he went to University. The staff acts like you're bothering them when you call and if you're sick, good luck! They tell you to go to the urgent care! Horinger scheduled two separate M.R.I.'s for my shoulder then failed to give the insurance the info (like I did P.T. for 3 months) so I found out the day before that they rejected the order! I talked to my insurance and they tried to contact Dr. Horinger multiple times, I also left multiple messages with his assistant and never got a call back. That was the last straw for me, after seeing him for years I moved on. I think they are making these doctors take on too many patients or something.

Kind, thorough, and responsive.
Dr Horinger I originally visited in his Willoughby office, on a whim. I needed a new primary and pull his name out of a hat, so to speak. But I was quite blown away by how good of a doctor he is that when he changed his office to be with UH, I followed him there. He's a nice guy, he listens to what you say and carefully explains your health issues while also making sure that you are healthy and on the right track in regards to your general welfare. He looks and finds problems you may not even know you have. Very much recommended. My wife changed to him after visiting him with me because she was so impressed as well.

lack of communication
My husband showed up early to his new patient appointment. He received a text message from the office saying to wait in his car and text that he was in the parking lot. Once he received the ok to go into the office he was told the office no longer goes by the texting system but it hasn't been shut off. He was told the doctor would not see him because the "appointment time was only 1 minute left." As a UH employee for almost 9 years this is unacceptable. I would not recommend this office.
