Dr. John Howland, MD

Previous RA doc retired , this appt was to establish care. The excessive visits that are being charged to insurance. He wanted to see my mom every 4 weeks no exceptions he states. (We live 3 hours away and her previous doc saw her every 6 months) His condescending cocky attitude and obvious annoyance with questions. He literally laughed out loud in my face with a “good luck” after me suggesting we find a different doc who could better treat her needs. He acted like he is the one and only rheumatologist and his way is the only way and we didn’t want him as a doc then it would be my fault if she becomes crippled .Paper charts and had written notes.No EMR system. He very obviously didn’t read any of her medical record. He had no idea what her current treatments were or where she goes to get them. He hated being asked any questions. His arrogant attitude was overwhelming. Horrific beadside manner. I don’t trust his judgment and we found a new doc. Terrible experience!

He wants to see you every 3 months, just to bill insurance, yet does nothing but write notes in a file the entire time. Barely looks or speaks to the patient. If asked a question he looks annoyed. At end of appointment he just gets up and leaves the room. AWFUL go elsewhere.

This old doctor needs to retire a long time ago he helps nobody especially my parents he is mean and rude it does not do anything when they come in and when they go to the hospital because nothing was done he refuses to read their results and help them but yet he'll yell at the family members telling them that he knows what he's talking about and he's not going to look at any results from the hospital ER. I highly encourage for anyone thinking of coming to this man to search for another doctor maybe that's a little younger and has a little bit more experience he is definitely on the defensive and does not do any testing of any sort what he said was wrong with my mother was not what was wrong with her I plan to pursue action on this doctor

The worst doctor I have ever been to! Dismissed my symptoms, used outdated diagnosis standards, belittled me in front of staff and other patients. He wrote a completely glowing report to my primary care provider while I complained to her. Despite other patients complaining to her, my insurance provider will still not stop sending patients to him even when he won't modernize his practice or his office with its paper-thin and moldy walls.
