The best orthopedic surgeon!
I am two years out, since my two part knee revision surgery and I can’t say enough great things about Dr. Kronick! From diagnosis to actual surgery, it has been a very smooth process, and I have 100% relief. He’s precise, pleasant and concerned. I don’t want a chatty doctor, I want a surgeon who is experienced and cares, and this is Dr. Kronick. I drove 6 hours round trip for his services and well worth the commute!

Dr. John L. Kronick, MD has been "treating" me for over a year, and my experience has been nothing short of awful. His bedside manner is terrible, and he is completely inattentive. Despite consistent symptoms from day one, he dismissed my pain and concerns. After finally getting an MRI, I was told the results didn't match my symptoms, even though nothing had changed since I first reported them. With his supposed years of "experience," one would expect a correct diagnosis or the necessary tests ordered immediately, not dragging things out for over a year while leaving the patient in pain. My last visit, which lasted a mere three minutes, ended with me in tears. I had even requested to go over the MRI results over the phone to avoid waiting for 45 minutes in the waiting room, but that was ignored as well. I strongly advise against seeing Dr. Kronick if you value your health and time.

Brisk and didn’t seem interested in my problem since it didn’t require a joint replacement.

Poor Experience
Very poor experience. I saw Doctor Kronick. I really wish I read more reviews before my appointment! I was the second appointment of the day and they were already 45 minutes behind. They took me for xrays and had me change (remove bra and get into paper shorts), then wait in a waiting room with other people. Everyone else was in regular clothing. I felt so exposed! The doctor saw me and was very short, he belittled the pain I was experiencing as he referred me elsewhere. He didn’t even go over the xrays with me as every other doctor i’ve been to does. He was very short and would not explain things to me in detail when I asked him questions. I got teary eyed when I was answering one of his questions and he WALKED OUT OF THE ROOM. Unprofessional and complete lack of empathy.

Terrible Bedside Manner! Saw a Better Doctor
I 1st met Dr Kronick 5+ years ago for a torn meniscus. He was very kind. His wife was his PA. He suggested a hydrologic gel injection into my knee. The injection helped a little, but after suffering years of scoliosis & sciatica pain the knee pain sent me over the top. I saw Dr Miranda the head of Muir Ortho. He felt I needed a knee replacement, age didn't matter. It went fantastic! A few months ago I injured my left leg was in 10+ pain. Al Muir Ortho Drs were booked for 2 months! I was Muir Ortho had a Urgent Care in Walnut Creek. I went there twice and they were very helpful! When I was finally able to see Dr Kronick he insisted it was not bursitis, but my hip from the MRI. I knew that wasn't the root of my pain. But agreed to cortisone. Which did nothing. I reinjured the hip, again in 10++ pain. Dr. Kronick was on call. He was rude. Stated he couldn't see me for 2 weeks. Had no home remedy suggestions & rudely stated, I don't know what you expect from me?!!!

Without Dr. Kronick’s skill as a surgeon I may not be walking without severe pain today. My Orthopedic Surgeon who has done several knee surgeries on me had to refer me to Dr Kronick for a severe injury I sustained during recovery of a knee revision. My surgeon with 30+ years had never done a patella tendon replacement and had only seen 3! He referred me to Dr. Kronick. Thanks to his skill & knowledge he did the replacement successfully. Do not take any chances if you are experiencing any severe knee pain. See Dr. Kronick immediately! Thank you Dr. Kronick

Terrible specialist. I have never experienced a medical professional lacking complete empathy for a patient to the extent that Dr. Kronic displayed. He did not present any viable solution for my hip issue. He also did not even carefully walk through the x-ray with me in order to communicate to me (the patient) where the arthritis is (as well as how bad it is). He might be good at surgery, but he definitely did not communicate any up to date knowledge or understanding of the field.

I felt very fortunate to have Dr K and his Muir Orthopedics team address my total joint knee replacement surgery. While he doesn’t seem to be the super chatty surgeon, Dr. K most definitely has the medical expertise to tackle very challenging knee replacement cases in addition to strait forward issues. He is supported by a very responsive PA and the ever communicative Grace, one of the Clinic’s medical assistants. The team has ALWAYS been available to answer my many nervous post op questions. I highly recommend Dr. Kronick.

I sing his praises and those of his staff with Muir Orthopedic physical therapists. Since Dr Kronick did both hip surgerys several years ago and recent broken bones from falls have been restored, they have literally saved my life and helped me to be walking at 88, living normally. My gratitude is boundless. Thank you all, especially Dr. Kronick, Dr. Calafi, and PT Apurva.

I had a hip replacement performed by another doctor; months later, severe pain. My original doctor had moved, so I saw a new surgeon who diagnosed "spinal pain" and recommended back surgery as did two other surgeons and a pain management doctor. I felt that wasn’t my issue. I located my original surgeon who suggested Dr. Kronick, THE best joint replacement and revision specialist in CA. Dr. Kronick thoroughly checked my MRIs, x-rays and bone scan. He asked targeted questions, examined me, observed my gait, explained his findings and conclusion--I needed a hip replacement revision. Expert surgeon! I know Dr. Kronick to be patient, caring, intensely focused, dedicated to finding the appropriate resolution, inquisitive, definitive. He is a blessing! I have moved to Idaho and wish he would do the same before any future surgery. If I can’t convince him to move, it would be worth making trips to CA just to have him as my doctor. I recommend him wholeheartedly, without hesitation.
