PA asked me to make an appointment every two weeks
Copied most - same experienceI recently had an appointment with Dr. Marshall for an annual physical, and things in his practice have changed. The physical examination was conducted entirely by his Physician Assistant (PA). Afterwards, Dr. Marshall came in, sat down, and chatted amicably for a couple minutes but did not examine me at all. The follow-up report, relying solely on the new lab work, was written and signed by the PA. Test result out of target range (similar to the result in previous years), the PA made a life-changing recommendation. Consequently, I requested the opinion of Dr. Marshall, with consideration of the previous results. It seems that Dr. Marshall is now using his credentials to collect fees for visits in which he is not really involved. PA wanted to repeat blood test in office every two weeks!

Extreme overuse of PA
I recently had an appointment with Dr. Based on one test result being out of target range (similar to the result in previous years), the PA made a life-changing recommendation. Consequently, I requested the opinion of Dr. Marshall, with consideration of the previous results. I was told that I would have to pay for a tele-visit (I did not request a consultation -- a comment by the doctor in my patient portal would have sufficed). It seems that Dr. Marshall is now using his credentials to collect fees for visits in which he is not really involved. I believe that he could be a good doctor but has succumbed to greed.

Great doctor, but the practice often cancels.
Dr. Marshall is excellent, 'if' you can get in to see him. Over the last few years, a day or so before the appointment (which took months to set up), a call from the office said 'he had an 'emergency' (or something) come up so he had to cancel'. A new appointment could be set up in a few weeks (or one time in a few months (?).' What's with that? They offered that I could see a PA (not what I had been waiting a few months to do) or another doctor (not my choice either because I like Dr. Marshall). I somewhat wonder whether the Laureate Group has a hand in this in an effort to spread more work to 'other' doctors or even to PAs. But this gets to be very frustrating.

Great Doctor. He takes his time and does not rush. He was a huge supporter of mine as I lost weight and got more healthy. Yes he is young, but I wanted someone I would out live! I can not say enough good things about him.

Patient
When I left Dr Marshall’s office I had a “wow” moment. He was everything a doctor should be. Extremely smart ,a good listener and very kind -He made me feel like if I had a problem, I couldn’t hope to be in better hands. As far as I’m concerned you couldn’t find a better doctor.

Dr. Marshall is Amazing
OMG, he is amazing! I don't care about long wait times!! Because with this practice that means they're taking their time and really assessing a patient that might have needs that are out of the ordinary. He truly is a replacement for Dr. Shulman only a younger version and he is probably smarter if not equally smart. You would be a lucky person to see this Dr. Expect a doctor is willing to investigate any issue you might bring to him. Nowadays that is rare. Think of Dr. house from TV but a super nice guy not demanding and very empathetic.

As a former patient of Dr. Shulman, I was transferred to Dr. Marshall. He might be the best doctor in the area, but I will not be going back to him. His bedside manner was insulting. I was taken on time and a staff member did get all of the necessary confirmation of information. Almost 45 minutes later Dr. Marshall finally came in the room. I let him know that I was ready to walk out. His response was "you can leave" and refused to go any further with the discussion. Thankfully, I have a year before another annual physical, but will not be going back to him.

I started seeing Dr. Marshall last year, and was looking for a new doctor who would be like one of those doctors of old who were in private practice. Long story short, he called me last night at 10PM to discuss some things that he hadn't had a chance to get to during the day. Who does that anymore? He is available, caring, and up to date on current research and I can't say enough good things about him.

I was a new patient with Dr. John Marshall recently and I was so impressed with his bedside manner. He really took the time to listen to all of my concerns, which were a lot since I was a new patient. He also had lots of ideas and knowledge about approaches for Different things and yet he was respectful of the direction I felt was best to take. The on boarding experience Was also really smooth and I could do everything from my phone. Highly recommend him!

Have been a patient at Laureate medical for over 20 years. My physician retired from clinical practice and recommended Dr Marshall as his replacement. I am favorably impressed with Dr Marshall. I found him attentive, knowledgeable, willing to listen and thorough. He takes the time to explain his reasoning and will work with the patient. I did not feel rushed. He also follows up . Dr Marshall is young and enthusiastic.
