Great Doctor
Excellent I have been a patient of Dr Martinez for several years. I find him to be very engaging, listens to me, asks questions. He and his staff are really great and I have received very helpful care from him.

I have been seeing him for 10 years he has been a great help to me as I struggle with lupus. My negative experience involves him running late. Last visit I was sitting in the exam room for an hour and a half. When I complained to the nurse she said you can Leave but it may take months to get another appointment I’m looking for a doctor closer to me as traveling to KU is a long trip

Unprofessional
We waited for approximately a half hour in the room, and Dr. Martinez came in all of bluster. Almost like a military checklist. Stated my name my age and then proceeded to go through every medical note in my record. He looked at things from other doctors and criticized them for their spelling and their inappropriate or wrong diagnosis according to him. He belittled people who were physician assistance and cussed while in the visit. he explained in detail everything that every blood test I’ve ever taken means and question me about high blood pressure in 2019. He only allowed. Yes sir and no, sir answers and was completely off his game if I asked him a question. I was waiting to hear about some serious potential diagnosis, but the only thing he told me after four hours of being Inconclusive we need more details. He then ordered a bunch more blood tests. We got quotes from the New England Journal of Medicine and things dating back to the 1800s that I could not care less about. AWFUL

I have been seeing Dr Martinez since 2016. I can not thank him enough for all that he has done for me. I was literally confined to my recliner, unable to move because of the pain and very limited mobility. Because of Dr Martinez' expert knowledge and practice, I am now able to do so much more!! I will never be the way I was "before", but my life has greatly improved. Dr Martinez does have a specific way he practices. He reviews your history with you. This allows for very clear communication. He does appear to like things precise. I can deal with this. It is his work, I'm just the patient. I would rather he do his work in a way that works best for him because I know that it is ultimately the best for me. The man is very good at what he does! Dr Martinez takes his time to answer questions and thoroughly explain things. He has never been condescending, degrading, or inappropriate in any way. My husband and I are both very appreciative of Dr Martinez.

After seeing him for a few years he’s basically given up on me. He says he can’t do anything for me and I should talk to my gastroenterologist about the joint and muscle pains I have. Also when I had hip pain he diagnosed it as bursitis based on the fact that “it is common in 50-60 year old overweight females”. I’m 45 and while I am overweight my weight has not changed but this pain is brand new and he basically blew it off and said he could do a steroid shot but that was all. I got the shot, it did nothing (and the day of the shot he again said 50-60 year old overweight...) and his next choice was to prescribe a topical which isn’t recommended for hips OR for people with GI issues. He doesn’t seem to care anymore and I’m done with him. Time to find a new rheumatologist!

Waited over seven months for this appointment and was not even given the opportunity to explain my symptoms. Was referred by my PCP because of mysterious joint and muscle pain. This was the worst doctor I have ever seen. Overall, this doctor is extremely demeaning to the patient. Unable to make eye contact or any conversation with the patient. He spent entire appointment typing and reviewing patient notes which should have been done prior to the appointment. Used profanity and unprofessional.

Dr Martinez may not be for everyone but he’s really good. He runs his appointments in a specific manner and gets TONS of info the first appt so it can take an long time. He prefers to ask you questions then get very specific answers and he enters it all in his notes. However, on subsequent visits he has every bit of your history he needs, can read it very quickly to refresh his memory. Having a complex history, I found it refreshing and didn’t have to keep giving the same info every appt.

Dr. Martinez first called himself Dr. Martini for whatever reason. He kept us waiting over 3 hours so we had to reschedule. The second time we waited over an hour. He would yell at my wife, cut her off in her explanation, and then would lecture to her. He was condescending arrogant and full self bluster. He showed no respect for my wife even though midway through the interview my wife disclose she to was a doctor. He then spent the rest of the time trying to demonstrate he knew more.

Condescending, arrogant, and a drill-sergeant. Would ask questions and cut me off in the middle of answering--only wanted one-word answers. Made the appt.in July but had to wait 3 months to see him. Waited almost two hours to see him in the office then he kept saying there was nothing he could do for me. He didn't even look at my sinuses/ears/throat and didn't even address the issue I made the appointment for until I brought it up at the end. Will never see this provider again.
