A thorough doctor and skilled surgeon
I went to him around 2010 for a minor issue, and he had a student with him. It was a little uncomfortable having some young kid with him looking at my butt, but that is their chosen specialty. I am a nurse, and I kept reminding myself that we all have to learn somehow. This is how great doctors like him are made. Ten years later, I went to him for a routine colonoscopy. I wasn't having any problems. Afterwards, he was very honest and direct and caring when he told me he found a large tumor. He got me in for surgery in just a few weeks. He called to check on me afterwards and took the time to answer all my questions, pray with me and fill out my FMLA paperwork. His wonderful nurse Amy has been with him a long time--which says much about him and the practice as a whole. You can tell he takes his practice very seriously, but I don't need warm fuzzies from my doctor. I need to know he got all the cancer removed. So far so good. My follow-up tests have been negative for 3 years.

Lost!
When I made the appt I expressed the need for getting service, without 4 to 6 week time frames! They, Dr Pittman office, actided like that wouldn't happen. I expressed already had blood work done so please don't ask to do more, to pad the doctors pockets! Had it done a month ago waiting on them to call! When they called they got me right in. Ignoring my concerns for reviews and the lack of confidence in them. The woman assured me I would be in good hands! Would like to ask that woman how she sleeps at night? Seriously!

Awful manners
Went in today for a procedure and was surprised when a med student came in. When I ask if the student could leave the room for the procedure, he said no……. WHAT!!! I wasn’t given any notice when they confirmed my appt that he would have a student with him. I walked out and WILL NOT return!!!! I took the day off for the procedure and the next day for recovery! Absolutely RUDE!!!! Will NOT RETURN, will find another, more pleasant doctor!

Dr Pittman performed an emergency proctocolectomy on my husband due to the rupture of his colon. He saved his life, as the surgery was a complete success. My husband did NOT become septic as a result of the rupture thanks to Dr Pittman’s thoroughness. I highly recommend Dr Pittman to anyone I know who requires colon or rectal surgery.

I was pleased with Dr. Pittman and would recommend him to others. He was very attentive and listened carefully to my explanation of my problem. I was able to get an appointment and did not have to wait long to be seen. Dr. Pittman explained my alternatives and choices and ultimately performed a hemorrhoidectomy. I was more than pleased that the recovery was not nearly as painful as I had read it might be and attribute this to having a fine surgeon like Dr. Pittman perform the procedure.

Dr Pittman did an excellent job treating my diverticulitis attack. I was in severe pain and nausea when I called his pager and he responded quickly and sent orders to hospital ahead of me and got me the treatment I needed. Very grateful!
