I came in with severe lower back pain that ran down my left leg. He took a standing X-ray in office. He said only surgery would help my problem. He scheduled an MRI 8 days out for when he could see me again. I asked for pain meds and he said no. I had a lot of pain standing and couldn’t walk more then about a minute. I asked about heat or cold and he said sometimes it helps some people. No recommendations. Eventually I talked to his assistant who said I should ask my primary doctor for pain pills. Someone who diagnoses me with a severe problem needing surgery and won’t prescribe pain meds will NEVER be my doctor!

Really disappointed with the outcome of my ALIF fusion. No improvement in pain and I also may be infertile now from some complications he caused. I would never recommend anyone who cares for their physical or mental wellbeing to see Dr Sherman or go to Twin Cities Ortho.

Dr Sherman did an ALIF fusion on my lower back for degenerative disc disease and ended up cutting the nerves that control my manhood. I now have retrograde ejaculation, which means that my it shoots backwards into my bladder instead of out. Besides the obvious downsides, I also may now not be able to ever father children as a result of their incompetence. I would NEVER recommend this procedure to any guy around my age or younger (I'm 38). I am beyond frustrated with TCO, after talking with a Urologist today, he said this risk is actually common with this specific procedure (which was NOT relayed to me by TCO in advance), and that it may be permanent. On top of it all, my original back pain is even worse now than before my surgery.! You gotta wonder if they know how to do this surgery safely, or if it was even the best procedure for me and my situation.

Awful doctor - would never Recommend him. Rude to my husband when he asked Questions- he has Alzheimer’s- seem to expect me to sign up for surgery without a question. Barb his assistant mispronouncedy name, when I politely corrected her she commented” Well, Ex - cuse ME!!!”

I had severe stenosis and was barely able to stand for 1 minute or walk 1 block. Dr Sherman performed a laminectomy and fusion of L4-S1. Results have been excellent as I now have no issues walking or standing and have started playing golf again four months after surgery. Dr Sherman has always been professional and easy to discuss issues with. His office staff is always very helpful.

Dr. Sherman did my Micro Discectomy today. I walked in the office nervous and In pain. He assured me he would help me and man did he! I woke up with zero nerve pain in my leg! My back is sore but nothing like the nerve pain. Thank you Dr. Sherman and your amazing staff at TCO and Crosstown Surgery Center.

Dr. Sherman was great. He gave me all the facts and didn't sugar-coat during our initial consult. Surgery was fast, professional and I'm pain-free for the first time in a long time. Thank you so much Doc!

Saw Dr Sherman for the first time today. Terrible, terrible experience. I can't stand for more than a minute and cannot walk 20ft. without going into a back spasm. He prescribed a stroid and wanted me to go back to work in less than a week but refused to give me a written notice to go back to work, which is required for that to happen. That notice would need to allow me back, plus must list any restrictions. Nope, refused to provide anything. Zip. So, I can't stand and can't walk but....

I saw him twice in 7 months. He did my husband's surgery 16 yr. ago and he was pleased. We drove from Duluth twice to see him. In the first visit we were happy and welcomed him doing my surgery after I recovered from knee surgery. When I came back the second time, it was as if he had no recall that he had agreed to help me with osteoarthritis and stenosis. This time he said it was too risky. I have been waiting to have this done before I have shoulder replacement. I felt totally let down.

I received nothing but the finest care from Dr. Sherman and Staff. I went into the clinic on the day of my surgery at a 9-10 pain level. It was excruciating! I walked out 3 hours later at a 0 and have not had any pain since. Dr. Sherman gave me my life back. I had been in bed for much of the previous two months. I am now living a full life again - managing a 13 acre hobby farm all by myself (I am a 68 yr old woman!). Thank you Dr. Sherman!
