Dr. Shin and his entire team and the entire team at Mass General are truly the best of the best! I was seen by my doctor where I live and was told “you’re fine not eligible for surgery but let’s do an MRI to check” then I was told “you just need like a day surgery to remove the bone spur pushing on your spinal cord”. I woke up a few weeks later unable to lift my left arm and hand no feeling in my fingers. Drove over an hour to Mass General was admitted immediately and had a spinal fusion done in a day. Dr. Shin was professional, took time to explain everything to me and did the best job on my spine. Literally everyone I encountered at Mass General set such a high bar of patient care that I wish I could give them each a hug and thank them for everything. Can not recommend Dr. Shin and his tram enough!

I’d been walking around for 8-9 years in agony from spinal stenosis. From the minute I woke from surgery, the pain in my leg was gone. Back surgery is not easy, but he did such a great job, I never had even one complication. The staples in my back were placed so perfectly I even asked if he measured the placement of each! :-). He and his staff took great care of me. I highly recommend Dr. Shin.

On 06-20-2016 Dr Shin operated on my back. Surgery is always a last resort. I was there but truly did not want to be there, however, everything that Dr. Shin told me about this operation and the relief he would be able give me was the truth. Due to this surgery this man has given me my life back. Now I say to myself WHY did I wait 10 years. Thank You and your wonderful staff.. It was a pleasure seeing you today for my 6 month checkup.

I had a shattered L-1 vertabrae from a highway car accident in January 2015. I was rushed to mass general and put in the hands of Dr Shin and his team. They saved my life and I am able to walk and go on with my life after being millimeters from being paralyzed. I always felt at ease from the ICU to the after care appointments. They are very attentive and professional, I never once felt scared or worried about my recovery as they treat you like a person through all stages of healing.

Four weeks out from surgery by Dr. Shin and I am amazed at my progress and my quality of life compared to the pain and suffering I endured for a very very long time. Dr. Shin and his team were unbelievable in every way - making a worrisome and dreaded necessary surgery as easy and more worthwhile than I could have ever anticipated. My family and I are amazed at every detail of attention and care.the
