Dr. John Showalter, MD

Hands down, I would recommend anyone -- with any health condition -- see Dr. Showalter. He listens to your concerns, asks thoughtful follow-ups and comes up with a plan to address each of your issues -- while thoroughly explaining what's medically going on and how his treatment plan will address each issue. When I lived in Knoxville, I loved going to see him -- he always put me at ease and I left feeling like he genuinely cared about me as a person and wanted to see me healed and happy. Dr. Showalter is a credit to the medical practice and a first-rate human! I wish I still lived in Knox (and had insurance!) so I was still under his care; he's simply the best and patients are so lucky to have him on their side!

We have our 40 year reunion June 2-4. Friday night (6/2) Melinda and I are having everyone over to our home (525 Westview Drive) here in Manhattan starting around 4:30. Dr. Showalter is a fantastic physician in my book! He is very attentive to my needs and questions, very thorough with symptom(s) review, and I feel like he genuinely cares about my overall health. He also took very good care of my mother for many years before she passed and she absolutely adored him. Very good bedside manner....

John Showalter is a “Doctor’s Doctor!” He is VERY knowledgeable, listens and makes himself available. My two daughters (26 & 24 year old) and mother (age 86) love him as well. From male to female, from young to older, he has the bedside manner one needs to have a great doctor-patient relationship. 5 stars in every category!

Goes above and beyond, knew we were leaving the country for travel and called me at home on Friday night to confirm a prescription called in and checked on my status. Very impressed with this doctor

He also takes enough time to chat with me about common interests. He is kind and thoughtful as well as a good doctor who checks out my apparent concerns. I highly recommend him!

Dr. Showalter is the best doctor we have ever had. It seems like he really cares about you as an individual. He takes time to listen and has what is known as "a bedside manner" that is hard to find in a doctor these days. Sometimes I actually feel better when he just walks into the examining room because I know he is going to help me. Definitely a five star plus doctor!

Dr. Showalter is the best doctor I've ever had. He takes the time to explain and listen to his patients. He genuinely cares about them. If I've ever had an emergency, he tried his best to get me in as fast as possible. Even after I had to move away, he gave me his personal number and told me to call if I needed him. I actually enjoyed going to see him.

Dr. Showalter is the most unpretentious, down to earth medical professional I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He takes the time to explain complicated medical conditions simply on a laymen's level while showing sympathy and concern for the patient. I feel as though I have had a meeting with an old friend and confidante rather than a doctor's appointment.
