I went into the Arlington office of Facial and Oral Surgery last year for mandibular tori removal surgery. John Stella was the surgeon. I audio recorded the visit from my phone. They did not have a functioning EKG throughout the procedure. I requested and received the medical records for the visit, and he lied by omitting the issue about the EKG not functioning properly. After I woke up from sedation, he pretended like the surgery went well.Also while nearing the end of the anesthesia, John called me “white Frankenstein”, which prompted laughter from everyone in the room.On John’s profile page on their website, it mentions: “As an evangelical Christian, Dr. Stella firmly believes in treating his patients as he would treat family.” I find that interesting. Does John attempt to humiliate members of his family as well?I filed a complaint with the State Board of Dental Examiners. After a 6 month investigation, they decided not to pursue disciplinary action against him or his assist

Dr Stella was the only dr that identified what was wrong after me having Covid shot which resulted in extreme face pain, jaw and throat pain. I really don't know what would have happened to me if he was not able to help.

Dr. Stella is one of the best! He is extremely patient and knowledgeable...one of the best experiences I’ve ever had!

Dr Stella is very informative, patient, kind, and does AMAZING work. His staff is very knowledgeable and courteous.

Horrible bedside manners. Does not believe in pain medicine . I had both my top and bottom jaw broken and reset to fix an open bite, he was extremely rude through the first 6 weeks of my jaw being wired shut. He threatened to cut the wires twice .Apparently he did not want to be bothered by my anxiety and my feeling of not being able to breathe. I would not recommend him due to his bedside manners . I spent over 14,000 out of pocket on him and you would think he would have a better attitude.

Dr. Stella helped me through a very difficult time with an extremely difficult surgery. Nice as he can be, and I'm TERRIFIED of dentists! I went through 4 dentists before I found Dr. Stella. I would recommend him to anyone.
