He successfully treats multiple spinal problems.
He listens, explains, and treats the problem(s). He doesn't try to sell you surgery unless the patient and Dr. Thalgott try other methods that could help. As a surgeon his outcomes are successful and there are no complications. His surgical team is excellent and they enjoy working with Dr. Thalgott in surgery, which is very important as well as they are very efficient. His office staff appreciates the respect he shows them and they seem very pleased to work with him. I had several much needed spine surgeries to correct many problems so I speak from my own experiences, both in the hospital and in his office. He treats his patients respectfully and I never have any fears having surgery by Dr. Thalgott.

Awful
I had surgery in 2021 and he replaced my neuro stimulator, since then I've been more pain then when he did itNow I'm living in New Mexico and have to find a neuro surgeon to fix what what ever he did to my mid back between my shoulder blades I wouldn't let him operate on my dog let alone another In my opinion his license should be taken away

Absolutely Top Notch
Dr Thalgott gave me the most unique doctor's visit I've ever had. I left feeling like I had just spent an hour with a good friend but somehow I was educated about the problems with my spine. He is so knowledgeable and knocked out my anterior spinal fusion on 4/10/23 the the posterior on 4/12/23. I walking out of the hospital on 4/13/23. Everyone I spoke with in the hospital speaks of him with reverence and respect. Obviously the healing is still to come but I'm optimistic! Highly recommend!!!!!!

Dr. Thalgott is doing God's work. He saw my pain and saved me when I had been handed from one provider to another previously. I can't say enough good about this miracle worker! I suffered 5 months with a severely bulging disc. He performed what amounted to an emergency surgery within weeks of meeting with me and I had immediate relief post-op. Dr. Thalgott is an experienced and highly skilled spinal expert and I will be forever grateful!

Does not educate his patients on all avenues of treatment available; he is subjective rather than objective. Further, he is unable to separate his professional practice from his personal beliefs as seen in items he displays in exam rooms which can be offensive to some patients. Staff routinely fail to obtain and/or follow up on referrals which match patient's insurance coverage, forcing the patient to make multiple calls to insure pace of treatment doesn't stall.

Listens well to patient, clues in on most urgent issues. First Dr to actually look at the MRI with me and spots prominent issue. Explains surgery and use of titanium implants as well as stages of ssurgery and required hospitalization. Staff easy to work with and answer phone when I call back with questions.

I have been a patient of Dr. Thalgott twice. My first experience was a problem with my neck that required a fusion at c6. My second time was a problem at L3 which also required surgery. It's been over a year sense my neck operation and eight months sense my lower back. Now that I have had time to recover, I can honestly say that I am 150% happy with his work and would gladly recommend him.

well please look at these case and read for your self. please google dr thalgott judgements. the following was taken off the fbi site here in las vegas. In pleading guilty, Dr. Kabins admitted that on August 3, 2000, in Las Vegas, he assisted another orthopedic surgeon, John Thalgott, M.D. in performing spine surgery on patient Melodie Simon. Simon became paralyzed from complications that arose after the surgery. Dr. Kabins knew that experts could say that he fell below the standard of care in his treatment of Simon, and that he could be sued. To avoid being sued, Dr. Kabins asked Howard Awand, a medical consultant who referred personal injury cases to him and other lawyers, to persuade Simon’s attorney, Noel Gage, not to sue him and Dr. Thalgott. and there is another case in 2003 my wife went in for him to do work on her spine. did a piss poor job, missed most off what was really needed, now she has to go back in to surgery to fix what this quack did.

Hello, I'm writing this review because of this marvelous and talented Doctor saved my life! I had disc replacement with another dr which didn't get a good review as he wouldn't help me when I was still in pain after surgery. But Dr. Thalgott got me in reassured me he was going to help me, so kind and understanding! Let me tell u other than just aches and a few leg spasms I have been pain-free almost 17 months I'm living again out of that horrendous pain! If you need help I recommend you pass go and get into him for his healing hands and heart! Bless you, Dr. Thalgott ps Dr. Dauds stay far away from this guy he will not help you! And treat you like a number unlike Dr. Thalgott he is genuine and a real healer! if there were more stars he would get the max! Thank you Dr. Mary Irby

I can’t thank Dr. Thalgott enough for everything he’s done. He saved my mom’s life in 1994 with a spinal fusion and again in 2013 with 2 more back surgeries. Now he’s saved me too! At 51 years old and suffering for 5 years with left & right side sciatica and a bad back, he performed a Posterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion (PLIF) on 11/29/17. I was in the hospital for a week, rehab for 2 weeks and home on 12/22 and I’m PAIN FREE! I haven’t taken ANY pain meds since! LOVE & THANKS! Sherry & Bonnie

No matter WHAT TIME you schedule your appointment for - you will wait THREE HOURS to see him. And that makes him a BAD doctor. Nothing else matters - if you can't get in to see him in under three hours, and you're losing time from work, and you're in agony - it doesn't matter how good he might be if you ever did get to see him. His administrative staff is the ABSOLUTE WORST I have ever dealt with.
