Three months of pain and suffering
It wasn't good. I went into the hospital after a fall. It was determined I broke my hip. He was the doctor on call. I was in a room by 5:00 P.M. and surgery was the next day around 11:00a.m. He never came to see me to talk about surgery options, of which I found out as I lay on the table being prepped for surgery. One option was the use of screws to hold the ball of my hip together. Having just heard the possible types of surgery at the last minute, we went with what sounded like the least invasive - the screws. Turns out I NEVER healed. Each follow-up appointment I was worse than before and he still insisted I was healing, due to xrays taken. At a second follow-up he mentioned that only 25% of surgeries using screws succeed!! If he had said that as I lay on the table I would have said, 'Please do the complete hip replacement.' Got the second option, which confirmed I was in fact NOT healing, had the hip replaced and all went well. I felt disrespected and unheard.

Went in two years ago for a ganglion cyst—a very common issue for women. I was 18 years old and there with my mom. After doing an MRI, he told me that he couldn’t find anything wrong and that sometimes girls come in with their moms and say they’re feeling pain that they aren’t. Not only does that have a sexist ring to it, it shows that he is so incompetent that he cannot identify a common ailment even with an MRI. Just saw my general practitioner who identified it as a ganglion cyst in under a minute. Dr. Vanderhoof is a waste of time and money. The only thing I paid for is the lesson that I can’t trust somebody just because they are in a white coat.

I had surgery for a fractured wrist two months ago. The doctor did not explain the level of pain and recovery after the surgery. The pain after the surgery was excruciating and I m still in constant pain and am unable to use my left arm and hand. Physical therapy has not helped. This has been the worst experience of my life. I feel disabled.

Dr. Vanderhoof is apparently very well liked and the wait was longer than expected. However it was well worth the wait. He was very attentive and took great care to make me feel at ease with the procedure.

I had to have trigger finger surgery on 2 fingers on one hand along with a cyst on same finger. All visits were VERY rushed, almost like i was wasting his time. He has NO bed side manner and is very short and direct. After surgery, had my 2 week follow up after the surgery to have stitches removed, he never came in and his assistant removed them. He walked in at last second and said, "ok good she got them, make sure to bend your fingers" and left. I was like "um I have a few other questions for you". To which his assist had to go get the answers for me. I stretched them as instructed. 3 weeks go by and I am still having lots of pain in my finger with cyst. Other finger feels almost 100%. I call as something wrong and pain is strong and I am told on phone that it would be 3 weeks out (as he is only there 1 day a week). I finally get in. I wait 1 hour and he sees me for 30 secs LITERALLY, and tells me to "deal with it". never TOUCHES my hand to inspect, just says "get Phys Ther". Rude!

Dr. Vanderhoof is a skilled and resourceful doctor who puts his patient’s needs first. After breaking my left ankle and left leg fibula bone and being told by a different doctor that I needed surgery right away, I went to Dr. Vanderhoof for a second opinion.  Dr. Vanderhoof advised me not to get surgery, and instead he carefully monitored my healing every step of the way (literally!)  My ankle and leg healed beautifully without surgery.  I am so grateful there are still doctors in the world like Dr. Vanderhoof who are willing to work with patients to heal, rather than jumping at the chance to do surgery.  Dr. Vanderhoof is known for his expertise and exceptional care of his patients.  Now I know why - his advice is based on the best outcome for his patients, which makes all the difference.

Dr. Vanderhoof does not specialize in any complex high-risk patients he refused to see me at Thompson Peak after refusing to take my case for knee Replacements in the past his unprofessionalism in that again even giving me a surgical consultation while being in the emergency room is unexcusable. His pompous and condescending and I would definitely not recommend go somewhere else you're wasting money

Very poor surgery he performed which resulted in non-union all because he didn't stabilize the injury adequately. I had to have it all re-operated on to get it fixed by a real professional. His communication and follow ups are very unprofessional. Even the weird little x-ray tech they have is very odd, he stares creepily and flirts with every woman, and I was told by a more reputable/ professional x-ray tech, that the xrays he took we very poor and positioned incorrectly.

Worst experience with a medical office. Got nothing right, Delayed, postponed, and eventually totally forgot my surgery. Wouldn't return my calls, they knew nothing when I called in and "Ignacio" never returned my calls. They did schedule the procedure once, at the wrong location and the wrong date. They then called to cancel a procedure for a Thursday and rescheduled for a Monday. Problem was, there was nothing scheduled for the Thursday in question and I never heard from them again.

I don't understand why no one would call me back after leaving 4-6 messages to see if I can be seen early if anybody cancelled, it all went to voicemail and from Today-Wednesday, still no call back. If this is how they treat us patients, I shutter the thought if we really needed 2 reach. Dr. Collins got right back to me and I am blessed he did...why they don't answer the phone..God only knows! Grateful I'm not his patieny
