My visits with Dr Whalen were awesome! He is very caring; very thorough; and always, always answered every question I had in detail. I was a very complicated patient as my conditions were quite rare indeed. I really was greatly saddened to have lost my care with him; as I considered him one of, if not the best! I actually cried when I heard he had left and moved on with his career??. I want to say thank you Dr Whalen for going the extra mile and although my news received from the test wasnt what ANYONE would ever want to hear; you brought me comfort and took very CAREFUL and GREAT CARE to keep me FULL OF HOPE. I really miss you and your great sense of humor! And, yes!! You did grow on me; but not "like a wart"!! LOL ????!! Thanx again for being such a great doctor and a great person ALTOGETHER! And, for taking such great care of me! Take care!

Dr. Whalen is very slow about getting back to you if you call with questions, and about calling in needed medications. He is good at listening when 1:1 during a patient visit, but very poor communication once he leaves. This is unacceptable, especially given that the population he serves is very frail to begin with seeing as they are requiring a physician that can see them in their home. I'm very disappointed.

Dr Whalen is well informed on current health issues. He is, I will admit, operating under a current case load which is hard on him. He sees a great deal of persons but he remembers my problems and my medication easily. He is very easy to talk to and I feel quite confident in him as my primary physician.
