Dr. Jon Carlson, MD

My 94 year old mom fell and had a hip fracture. Dr. Carlson did the surgery. Excellent job, great bedside manner, explained everything. Highly recommend him!

Carlson is a rare find, he is exceptionally talented with his skills in surgery (he's done multiple on my entire right leg), as well as exceptional on follow through, follow up, and pure pride in his work and client health. He gave me the opportunity to do things since my MVA in 2016 that I'm sure no other Surgeon around could have done on my entire right leg. I'm forever grateful for him saving my leg, being there every step of the way and always welcoming me back to the office even if it had been 2 years that past, he remembers his work, details and I will forever be thankful I was brought to UofL October 2016 & Carlson was the surgeon assigned to me! I only wish he'd come to Florida so I could still use his exceptional practices!

Dr.Calson put my left leg back together after it was broken 4 places and I suffered a crushed heel I went under 3 surgeries in a week's time this incident happened in Sept 2019 I never thought about a review then I was so caught up in heeling and pain it took quite sometime I wanted to thank him so much for his superior work and I'm very pleased and happy he saved my leg and I just wanted others to know awesome work he did for me and I thankyou all at U ofL but I can't thank him enough Thomas B Oglesby jr Thanks Doc Carson

Dr. Carlson is absolutely amazing! He repaired both my patella tendons at same time and I had preexisting petella alta condition in both knees. Its been five years and i have literally been better than before the surgery. He was straight up with me that the goal was to just get me back to how i was , but im actually better than before the injuries were repaired. I was sooo lucky he was my surgeon that day .

I have found after 2 surgeries for a broken femur, I'm not sure he really cares about me. All he does is tells me to quit smoking. His communication is not very good at all.

My son and daughter in law were in a very serious motorcycle accident and were airlifted to the U of L. We could not have been more fortunate to have Dr Carlson to take care of our family. They both had multiple orthopedic injuries and needed a series of surgeries. Dr Carlson was professional, empathetic and humble. We had the utmost confidence in his skill as a surgeon. We were most impressed with his communication with our family and the compassion he showed our children.

He is the best surgeon you could ever have, plus so kind and explained everything to us about what he did to save my wife's life.Thank you for everything

Great bedside manner and he listens to what you say. He does not speak over your head whatsoever. His office assistant Sydney is spectacular!!! I still don’t understand how she has such fast response time to questions and follow ups. We love these guys????

Dr Carleton was beyond amazing. He answered all of our questions and went out of his way to make sure we saw the best ortho surgeon possible when we got back home to Michigan. Would highly recommend to anyone

After breaking both legs and other bones in a car accident to miss a deer, Dr. Carlson completed 4 surgeries in a little more than 4 hours. He and others came to my room to check on me many times. I highly recommend Dr. Carlson to everyone!! R. Thomas

Dr. Carlson is so humble. You don't find many doctors like that. He is also very knowledgeable about the surgerys that he does. I will forever thank God for sending Dr. Carlson to help me. I am also very grateful that he has Sidney working with him. She always got back with me in a timely manner and made sure everything went very smooth after the accident and my surgerys. Both Dr. Carlson and Sidney are a blessing from God. Dr. Carlson, if you ever read these just know that you are the best.

Dr. Carlson has been taking care of both of my knees for over a year. He has replaced both knees and continues to follow my progress. The prospect of having knees replaced can be quite ‘bone’ chilling, but Dr. Carlson has always explained each procedure in a thorough and caring manner, which has kept me relaxed and confident in his ability to so the best for me. I do not hesitate to recommend Dr. Carson to any patient who may need such a skilled, kind surgeon to care for them.

Dr. Carlson replaced my hip and I have not felt this good in decades. Other doctors kept turning me down and I after my first visit with him I had my operation within a month! He answered all of my questions and I felt more comfortable with him than I haveany doctor I have had. I will send all family and friends his way. I can't say enough!
