Dr. Jon Trankina, MD

He was 50 minutes late which would have been okay except he rushed through 5 minute visit and would not listen to our concerns or take time to answer our questions. I cannot trust a doctor who does not listen.

I went to get a colonoscopy last week and scheduled it by phone. I didn't meet Dr. Trankina beforehand, but my general practitioner recommended him. He was great and the staff at the Atlanta Gastroenterology center were very friendly and competent. I was asleep the whole procedure and woke up with no discomfort. I highly recommend him!

Dr. Trankina entered the exam room 1.25 hrs after my appointed time (noon for a 10:45). 15 minutes later, he said, "I'm sorry but I need to wrap this up. It's been a long day and I have other people waiting." I protested that 15 minutes was too short for a first appt. He stayed another 10 minutes to answer my questions. He said he would order 2 prescriptions and he told me the dosages. But he actually ordered a smaller dosage of one medication. I called his medical asst and left voicemail msgs 2 days in a row, asking that she tell Dr. Trankina about the discrepancy. Had he changed his mind or was it a mistake? I said I was eager to start the new medication regimen and requested a prompt return call. She NEVER called me back and their phone system does not allow one to speak to any live person except to make an appt. I don't see how anyone can tolerate a doctor whose med asst does not call back. The discrepancy in the dosage of the prescribed medication was also disturbing.

On my first visit to this doctor I waited for 90 minutes. Note that upon my arrival I asked if he was running on time as so many doctors seem to run behind these days. I had no choice but to wait because I needed help with the issue I was having. I arrived today for my follow up. I was scheduled as his first appointment of the day due to my complaints on my last visit. Upon arrival I asked if he was running on time and was advised he was just getting started and I was his first patient. I was taken to a room and after 22 minutes I asked why I was still waiting if I was his first patient. Imagine my fury when I asked and learned he WAS NOT EVEN IN THE OFFICE YET!!! This man has ZERO respect for his patient's time. If I could give him negative stars I absolutely would. I am disgusted by his lack of respect for my time. Needless to say I left without waiting any longer and will never return.

He understood my concerns and was very patient with me.

I have had Dr. Trankina for my gastro Dr. for several years. He is VERY patient, listens to what I have to say, has my best interest of health in mind and very helpful.

Dr Trankina listens and replies to questions with very good context and rationale. THe office staff is very courteous and helpful.

Dr Trankina is the best. He has been my doc for several years. I think he is truly concerned about my well being. He's a great guy, as well as being a straight shooter. If you are looking for someone to sugar coat, he may not be your man.

Dr Trankina is a caring and personable person. He casually communicates about you the person and patient. He will make difficult recommendations and do his follow up work. Thanks!

Dr. Trankina is an excellent and caring physician. He takes his time to explain everything to you and we never felt rushed.

I was really feeling quite ill, and also anxious about the pain I was feeling when I first went to Dr. Trankina. He is an amazing man, both a very astute, skilled physician and a kind, patient person as well. I very much appreciate the time he took with me and the care I received. I could not be in better hands.

Great friendly staff and Dr. Trankina is not only extremely knowledgeable and well educated, his bedside manner is the best!

Seemed in a rush at my initial consult appointment at his Woodstock office. I didn't feel listened to at all! He did a colonoscopy and endoscopy. Told me he took biopsies of my esophagus and would have results in 7-10 days. its been over 3 weeks, and I cant get anyone to call me back with informationon on the biopsies! Very frustrated.

I've been a patient for 4 years and have issues with my GI and colon. Had a bad scheduling experience here in December. My appointment was evidently cancelled and I was never made aware until the day of prep and the Anesthesiologist office called to ask if Dr. Trankina's staff have notified me. They had not! I've called the office and left messages with the office manager and written a letter to no avail...no response about why this happened. Guess they don't need patient's because I'm not one anymore!

I have had 3 colonoscopies performed by Dr. Trankina. Each time, the nurses have been wonderful and caring and Dr. Trankina has always been very pleasant and willing to answer by questions.

I trusted Dr. Trankina with my digestive health for at least 12 - 15 yrs. My visits were all for specific problems. He performed at least three colonoscopies and four EGD’s. I specifically asked him to check for celiac disease. He didn’t think it was necessary. At the last follow up for the last procedures, he actually stated that he didn’t know what more he could do for me. I ended up finding a Colorectal surgeon and had a total colectomy. After a dx of Barrett’s Esophagus, I searched out another doctor. She was very in tune with my complaints. I needed to know if my BE was related to my constant GERD, fatigue and weight loss. At the first visit she performed an IBD blood panel - a test available since 2010, in the middle of my care with Dr. Trankina. Dr. Trankina never even suggested simple lab work. My new doctor told me that have a 90% marker for Crohn’s Disease. Finally an answer. But it may be too late if my small intestines are eroded. I am angry, sad and seeking legal counsel.

I have been a patient of Dr. Trankina's for over 10 years. I would highly recommend him to anyone that wishes to be treated by a knowledgeable and caring physician. He is detailed oriented with his approach and presents an easy to understand position to his patients.

Dr Trinkina is a wonderful doctor very thorough and takes time to explain everything!!!

Dr. Trankina is the VERY best. I would never even consider going to anyone else.
