Dr. Jonathan Dattilo, MD

I am CPA 72 years old and I did my hip replacement surgery in 2022 with Dr. Datillo, and now in 2024 my total knee replacement. Both procedures were a great success and quick full recovery after my PT. After three weeks I was able to go back to work. Dr. Datillo is very attentive to patient needs, and cares about his patients and I would say he is the best orthopedic surgeon. He spent a lot of time explaining the procedures options and outcomes to me and my family. He is the best surgeon I’ve ever had. My arthritic knee and hip are wonderful now. I will highly recommend Dr. Datillo to anyone that needs a joint replacement. Thanks Dr. Datillo for everything you have done for me so I can regain my health again.

This doctor never asked how my injury occurred. He wouldn't listen when I tried to share relevant medical info. Constantly interrupted. Was unable to look at an MRI and understand what he was seeing. Over dependence on the radiology report. Unable to show me the MRI and explain and show me what was on it. Huge ego with a bro attitude. I have 52 years of extensive experience with orthopedic surgeons and this doctor makes the list of one of the worst ever. AVOID.

Dr. Datillo performed a total knee replacment just over 1-year ago. I have no regrets going through with the procedure (in my 40s) and selecting him as my surgeon. Very personable guy, skilled carpenter :) Go Bengals!

Dattilo (I hesitate to call this derelict doctor – he has apparently never read the Hippocratic Oath about doing no harm) is the most uncaring alleged physician, with a staff to match, that I have ever had the misfortune of encountering in my 83 years.I was scheduled for hip replacement surgery with him and a week or so before my scheduled surgery, I received a call from him one morning. In the nastiest voice ever he said, “I am tired of you hassling my staff, you refuse to get an EKG, you are finished, I am cancelling your surgery.”I did in fact have everything I needed and confirmed that with the hospital. He just left me floundering in pain with the need to find another physician, go through the process of making appointments and getting on a surgery schedule - he couldn't care less. This man should not be licensed to practice medicine. I write this in extreme pain - thank you Dattillo!

Dr Dattilo did a full knee replacement for me 5 months ago. I am very happy with the results and how quickly I have been able to walk with no pain or meds. He is a great communicator, very patient and KIND. Dr Dattilo is dedicated to using the most advanced techniques and patient comfort is very important to him. His pain management protocol is wonderful! I highly recommend him and if I ever need knee or hip surgery he will be my surgeon. Dr Dattilo did a complete left knee replacement on me in August, 2022 at Doctors Hospital in Sarasota. It was my first surgery ever at age 73.I was kept overnight and discharged the next day. Things could have not been any better. First class doctor and hospital, I would highly recommend him.

I saw Dr. Dattilo because of my knee pain. He patiently listened to my concerns and laid out all of the options available to me, from least invasive to most invasive. Although surgery is an option and likely in my future, he did not push it at all and assured me that the decision to have or not to have it is mine. He is also funny and has a great bedside manner. I often feel rushed when seeing doctors, but he did nothing to rush me, answering my questions. I highly recommend him.

He did a total hip surgery on me 4/7/2022 could have went home same day, but stayed for observation because of heart issues. I’m pain free he is an amazing surgeon unbelievably skilled at his profession.

if your reading this your shopping for a surgeon,, we aren't born with the knowledge, and dont do it enough to be good at it... my name is steve theis and Dr. Datillo replaced my hip on feb 24, 2022.. after i did the research and chose him - I couldnt be happier.. I promised him if he did a good job on me I would write him a great review... he did, so here it is !!!!!!

Be careful. This orthopedist refused to review my X-rays, ct scans and mris that I already had of my knees and DEMANDED that I have new X-rays. He then made me wait for over an hour and was extremely arrogant.

Dr. D. recently treated my mother for a hip fx. He was both professional and empathetic at all times. He answered all questions completely regardless of time spent. He provided complete contact information and encouraged that we utilize for any questions/issues. Dr. D may be young, but he is WELL trained and highly skilled. He has earned our full confidence. I recommend without hesitation.

I just had Total hip replacement surgery, walked out of the Hospital the same day! Dr. Dattilo was the best Surgeon I’ve ever had. He called me at home to check on me, he is very professional and his bedside manner is also the best. I would rate Dr. Dattilo a 10!

Further, I have undergone 3 major back & neck surgeries placing Dr. Dattilo also in the top 10 surgeons in the USA. Dr. Datillo met me at my bedside after completing five (5) major surgeries including several extreme emergency operations, and explained the total hip replacement surgery I w to undergo. His bedside manner & professionalism is unsurpassed. He further explained that I would have the new titanium hip implanted from the front an that I would be able to walk very soon after surgery. I was admitted to Lakewood Ranch Medical Center on Oct 8 after I fell from my bicycle and broke my hip. I was in tremendous pain as the emergency EMS paramedics brought me to LRMC. Dr. Datillo operated on me on Oct 9. I spent Oct 10 in recovery. On Oct 11 I was up walking with a walker. and requested to be discharged.

Dr. Dattilo is very pleasant and professional. Took the time to discuss treatment options and the knee replacement that will happen at some point. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an Orthopedic Surgeon.
