Wow - Charges for Free Annual Reviews

I went in for a free annual review with blood work. The results come back and he calls me to give me the result explanation. He then submits a claim for me to pay $161. I let him know, but he does not respond. Wow, a patient sends a message and 72 hours later, still no response. In addition, he sends a code to charge me to explain the results and any subsequent actions I need to take. Wow. My insurance BCBS of TX told me this violated my rights as a patient and will let them know to stop billing me for this free annual check up. Keep this in mind when visiting this doctor. I will never visit again, even though I was loyal.

Honorable & Trustworthy
He has been our family doctor for 25 years. He's a general practitioner-jack of all trades and master of none, but he is thorough and has made some accurate diagnosis. He diagnosed me with prostate cancer in 2010 which led down a dark, murky path. He made an Alzheimer's diagnosis with my mother which is the killing of the mind and killing me with high blood pressure. I don't demand perfection in a doctor anymore than I would the world around me, but he does miss the small things sometimes. He doesn't always return my messages or call in our prescriptions. Doctors must get busy or they burn out at a point. He has done his best about 90% of the time. The three dreaded derogatory titles that a doctor can get stuck with are: a quack, a shake-down artist, or butcher or witch-doctor. Dr. Lin is none of the above. He is confident, friendly, and professional. Sometimes they make us wait way to long, but I haven't found Nirvana yet. Not the grunge band, but human peace, love, & God conscience.

Serious, kind, thorough in his exams. Dr Lin does not use online systems for records but he keeps complete manual records and uses a laptop for Rx meds ordering. Dr Lin has my trust. I have be seeing Dr Lin for 15 years.

I have been a patient of Dr. Lin for several years. His staff is not the best. After 3 phone calls over 7 days have yet to hear back on a question regarding my lab work. Also, I agree with the comment about the paperwork and the rejection of modern practices. Such as holding onto folders of papers instead of converting them to an online system.

He seems to be a decent internal medicine doctor, but is unorganized and has a lackluster staff to support his practice. Everything this practice does is severely antiquated for the industry (they use paper to document everything and don't have any online interaction with other physicians or their patients). Thus, since a good staff, modern practices, and actual physician interaction make up the bulk of a patient's satisfaction he has a long way to go.

I've been seeing Dr. Lin for over 20 years. He has a great sense of humour but he can be very serious. His pricing is always fair. Sometimes he gives me a considerable cash discount.

Dr. Lin is fantastic. He cares about his patients and takes care of them. If I was to rate his nurse, she would not even get one star. She refused to check on a mistake because she already knew the answer according to her. She refused to pull up my file to check for me. I had to show her an old prescription bottle to get her to do her job. She never even apologized. The front office is also terrible. They are very rude and make zero effort to update you after you’ve been waiting for an hour.

Dr. Lin is awesome. I have been a patient for ten years. The dr I had before Dr. Lin always had wait times of 4 business days before I could get in. No exceptions or work ins-not even emergencies. The doctor would not return your phone call. I can get in any time I need to even same day, and I make sure I arrive on time because I rarely sit in waiting room more than 5 minutes & no more than 10 minutes in the waiting room. Also, Dr. Lin takes the time to explain everything & is proactive.
