Terrible life changing experience
I’m sharing my terrible and life changing experience with Dr. Jonathan Quinby, of Quinby Orthopedics. I had what was supposed to be a “simple” (as he described it) ganglion cyst removal from my wrist, and Dr Quinby ended up severing my EPL tendon which is the long tendon that controls the end-top joint of the thumb. The thumb on my dominant hand, mind you, is permanently affected. My thumb droops down, I cannot extend the tip properly, and my thumb drags when doing certain, everyday functions. He did not even know that he severed it, which is the most disturbing part of the story. It is disturbing that he cut this tendon at all, and even more disturbing he did not know that he cut it and then stitched me up like that. To add insult to injury, the cyst came back in 6 months, but now is higher on my wrist due to the incision-scar line. I would caution anyone who is considering this doctor for any type of medical care to beware. Choose your doctor and their specialty better.

Rushed appt.
The doctor knows what he's doing but could not rush the appt any faster. Including treatment & exam, he spent 5min total with me. Who took care of the problem but what caused my problem, I don't know & he was in such a rush that he gave me no chance to ask questions.

He surgically repaired my ruptured Achilles tendon 2 months ago. He is kind, knowledgeable, and from what I can tell from my recovery, a great surgeon! I’m grateful that he got me in so quickly and was willing to do surgery on a 64 year old who just wants to get back to an active lifestyle.

Dr Quinby is an excellent Surgeon he has replaced my left shoulder in July, just finished my right knee replacement, my left knee is already scheduled, he told me over 10 years ago that I would need them both replaced before I turned 55, well I made it to 57 so I'm well overdue. He has done an excellent job of managing my pain over the years. He is down to earth and listens to you. I would highly recommend him. Oh and his staff is awesome, Staci is the one who makes it all happen and always calls me right back when I need assistance 5 Stars all theway.

I was nervous about the appointment because I didn't want to be prescribed medicines or have surgery. I'd much rather use that as a last resort. Thankfully, Dr. Quinby knew that my issue could be solved with PT!
