Rude, Not interested in patient care
He spent a total of 15 seconds with me to just tell me what I should feel. Cut me off when I disagreed and then walked out.

Fine if you don't have questions
I have been a patient of Dr Lee for 10 years and he provided excellent care. As soon as I had questions about my treatment and office visit, my texts were ignored and I was told I couldn't ask questions before my visit. Lack of communication with the doctor and NP caused a refusal of my treatment. The doctor was angry, argumentative, untruthful, and condescending once he did call me. I was waiting 6 weeks before anyone let me know there was a problem, only after I called first. Be careful with this unprofessional doctor.

You Have Been Warned.....
I would NOT go here! We have a sweet girl transitioning from CHOC Care with Lupus and this is FAR from anywhere near good care. We made an appointment and my daughter saw a nurse practitioner who gave her horrible advice. I asked my daughter to call the doctor to speak with him THREE times! Two times we had the same nurse practitioner call back(when we requested we didn't want to speak with her and we wanted to speak to the doctor) and the third time a receptionist. So sad that 1) Dr. doesn't welcome new patients. 2) When asked for doctor to call, he doesn't call. We gave him three weeks to call us. And the fact that they call us back two weeks later by a receptionist???! So sad. Thank God her Lupus is under control. Again, sad that the a doctor doesn't want his office to have excellent care expectations!!!! Wouldn't you care if a patient is reaching out to you with concerns about a practitioners advice completely going against her CHOC doctor's recommendations. Run now!!!!

Don't Go Here – Sep 28, 2023

Pompous Physician
While we were waiting in the exam room, his assistant walked in with another male individual in a white gown and started asking for medical information. I interrupted her asking who the other gentleman might be and she exclaimed that he was a medical student who is training or interning. I said, I am sorry you should get our permission first before you invite another individual to the exam room with a patient. She rudely replied, okay, then can he be present? We are just taking notes and getting a background for the case. The assistant was so frustrated with the fact that we were not happy with an intern being present, so we just let it go as our mom was in so much pain she was literally begging the helpless intern to help her. Shortly after, Joo Lee, the physician, showed up, he was condescending and mocking how we were describing the pain and laughing at the end of every sentence because he didn't like our description of the disease. Stay away from this practice.

Best doctor & staff
I have had DR Lee as my doctor for more than10 years and I wouldn't go anywhere else! I have severe osteoarthritis and he has always spent at least 20 minutes with me at every appointment. He's patient and caring and fabulous at his job. I also have had no problems with his staff at all, and I love the new location. The fact that they do your bloodwork right on site is a big help to me, too. I would highly recommend him to anyone!

Rude & Belittling Doctor
I’m confused by all the positive reviews I’m seeing - I have an extensive medical team and a lot of experience navigating appointments & Dr. Lee has been one of the worst doctors I’ve seen to date. I was under his care for about a year & experienced demeaning & rude behavior from him. He would interrupt & argue with me, belittle me when I stated how severe my limitations are, and take up appointment time talking about himself instead of addressing my concerns. During the time I was under his care, I made no progress in my condition, which he hastily diagnosed without doing proper testing. Do yourself a favor and find a doctor who will actually listen and care for you.

Don’t Go Here!
The front office staff is really rude. I called them on my way to my appt today b/c I couldn’t find their new office & she immediately said she’d have to cancel if I was 10 min late. In addition, it is impossible to get an appt with Dr. Lee and they always recommend seeing one of his 5 nurse practitioners. The office staff is entirely different now, it used to be filled with friendly, competent people but not anymore. I’m not going back.

Dr Lee is ok the front office is wow
I like Dr Lee he’s pretty direct, but I like that and he’s easy to talk to, the only downside is his front office - his front office alone almost makes me want to change doctors. They’re not always bad, however, I’m only hold for like 20-30 mins at a time, gets old after awhile.

Rude and hard to get a hold of
Every time I try to call the office staff leaves me on hold for over 10 minutes, hangs up on me or transfers me to a voicemail that never returns the call. The staff is rude and obviously doesn’t care.

I have been a patient of Dr. Lee's Nurse Practitioner Lornalyn Tongco for 6 months. She is the least educated medical "professional" I have ever encountered. I was sent in to get tested for RA. I have an incredible amount of pain and swelling in my hands. 1. She has said several times "I don't know" " You are hard to diagnose". 2. She isn't familiar with a lot of medical conditions. I have seen her have to google things to try to give me an answer. I could do that without paying her $65 dollar a time to see her. 3. She is condescending. She doesn't listen or believe what you explain too her. She doesn't look at what could be causing the condition. She would benefit from learning more about her chosen profession. 4. I have chronic hand and wrist pain. I asked her after 6 months of testing and giving me different medications. could it be something else. She said like what ? I said Carpal Tunnel. I believe this is a cracker jack office. They allow this clearly poorly educated woman

I would not recommend this office if you are looking for a diagnosis. I have had a horrible experience from the first time I visited this office. This is a review of 6 visits. The front staff doesn't seem to care about patients. You will probably never see the Dr. You will see his NP. Lornalyn Tongco. Lornalyn is confrontational. She doesn't listen. She likes to pull things out of left field and when questioned about something she never gives a clear answer. Both her and the PA will prescribe meds when they aren't even sure what's wrong with out. I have done a lot of testing to try to get a diagnosis. Lornalyn says " I don't know" " You are just hard to diagnosis". I have had to bring up things we could test for. Her knowledge is low. I assume she hasn't had much experience based on my time with her. She will google conditions in front of you. I think she could treat people but she is not a good diagnostic person. Perhaps she needs a little more experience.

A Patient – Jul 03, 2021
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Lee?
This honestly is the worst experience I've ever had with a doctor. Dr. Lee looked at my swollen hands and diagnosed me before a test was even ordered. He spent less than 2 minutes with me and then turned me over to his PA. I only went to one more appointment with the PA - who prescribed a medication he shouldn't have had he checked my medical history. The blood draw station is a chair in kind of a computer/file room. Employees walked through to get to other rooms, or stopped to use the computers. The tech drawing my blood was not wearing a mask and had a cold or "allergies" ... this was at the beginning of COVID in February but still .... people should not be working with patients while they are sick! The staff in the office is incredibly rude. I now see Dr. Khaleghi right up the street and he and his staff are amazing!!!

ZERO STARS- Dr. Lee is awful. My visit was probably 5-6 min long. During that time Dr. Lee was argumentative and condescending. He has no compassion for his patients.... very unprofessional. He walked out in the middle of my visit!! I wouldn’t recommend him to anyone. If you get referred by another doctor please ask for someone else. He doesn’t care about his patients, we are just $$$ to him. Stay far away from this place.

“Dr” Lee and his PA are not patient advocates. You are a number and an opportunity to collect insurance money. They are argumentative and challenge your thoughts and the thoughts of your previous medical providers. They show zero empathy towards your condition and attempt to make you look foolish. They also refused fmla even though my previous provider had no issue with it. This is irritating also because practically begged that office to give me a phone appt but instead they dragged me in. I had already exhausted my sick time and ended up using vacation time for something they could have easily told me over the phone. They will waste your time and money. If you value yourself stay away from this doctor and his little proteje’ of a PA. The customer service suites the leadership. Some medical assistant with dyed red hair is about as friendly as cold dirt too. Do yourself a favor and run fast. Run far. (While you can). ‘Cause when they’re done with you, you won’t even be able to walk.
