Dr Alvernia was very professional and explained what my problem involved. He explained exactly how the surgery would be performed. The recovery went very well. I recommend him as a doctor.

Dr Alvernia has great bedside manners. He is concerned for your well-being and comfort. He is very thorough in his exams and explanations of what needs to be done. I have had 2 surgeries done by him. Both turned out very well with Good results and follow up. Doesn't rush through appointments. His office staff is very nice and accommodating. Always cheerful and helpful.

Dr. Alvernia was very informative when explaining the procedure. After the surgery was in progress, he saw the need for 10 screws instead of 6. The surgery was a little more than 9 hours. I asked if he was worn out afterward, he said really wasn't concerned about that. He is a very caring surgeon, who seems to really care about his patients. I am happy with the outcome, and no more pain!

Dr. Alvernia explained everything about my lower back problem. He was thorough in his treatment, starting at the top and working down. My major pain was in the lower back, and the damage there was extensive. However, Dr. Alvernia did a great job on my back. He has always been easy to talk to, and he will answer all questions and concerns. He really cares for his patients. I think that he genuinely likes what he does and is happy to see his patients recover. I’m glad that he is my doctor.

I am a 76 year old female who somehow had my # 5 spinal disc slip completely out of line causing extreme pain no idea how I did not fall the MIR proved that the only solution was spine surgery Thank God I found Dr Alvernia! He did the surgery on Feb 29 and I was up and walking the next day after two weeks I was able to quit my pain meds at six weeks I am completely pain free and able to walk with a cane on my way to complete recovery I can not believe how smooth my surgery and recovery has gone thank you Dr Alvernia and the wonder staff

Dr Alverniaa was one of the best droctors i have ever been to. he is well educated in what he does and takes the time to listen to your complaints and tell you exactly what the problem is and how to fix it

My neck was bad and had been so for the past 3 years. It had gotten to a point where it was unbearable. My strength was diminished, and the pain kept me up at night and cranky during the day. From the moment I awoke after surgery, I felt no pain!! Of course, there was some discomfort from the surgery itself, but my debilitating pain was gone, gone, gone! Dr. Alvernia was careful and deliberate with his work. Every time I had to see another professional in regard to my surgery, (clearance from the cardiologist, the anesthesiologist, my pcp, etc) his work was praised by his colleagues. This was reassuring and comforting.Prepare yourself to be patient with his office staff. Janelle is wonderfully sweet and efficient but is only one person and seems to have to take care of the office by herself. Lastly, Dr. Alvernia gives the impression that he is more concerned with the cure of the problem than the cause.

From the moment he walked into the room, I felt comfortable. He was very knowledgeable about the cause of my back pain and we scheduled surgery.When I woke up after surgery, the pain I had been experiencing was gone. I feel as if I've gotten my life back.I have and will continue to recommend Dr. Alvernia.

I had terrible sciatica and back pain. I saw Dr. Alvernia , a neurosurgeon, and he ordered tests-MRI & X-Rays. I was scheduled for surgery on my L-4 & L-5. A disk had spilled out & was causing pain. He performed a posterior interbody lumbar fusion on the L4 & L5 vertebrae . I found Dr. Alvernia to be very thorough and to have a great bedside manner. It has been 2 months since my surgery & I am feeling like a different person with no pain and lots of energy. I highly recommend Dr. Jorge Alvernia, who has been practicing in the Monroe area for 14 years.

I had a herniated L5/S1 disc in 2020 that was excruciating. I was recommended to Dr Alvernia by the orthopedic surgeon and was told by a couple of doctors he does not rush to choose surgery and they would also recommend him. I had always heard "you have to go to Shreveport or Baton Rouge to have back surgery done" but I decided to give him a chance. I'm glad I did. Janelle at the front desk was very friendly and helpful not only getting the appointment set up but also helping to answer questions before and after surgery. Dr Alvernia was late seeing me but it was because he was answering questions from another patient. He stayed well after my appointment time but answered every question I had thoroughly. The surgery went great and when I woke up I was pain free (except for the incision). Now, over 2 years later, I am still pain free and I have never had any issues with the surgical results. I'm telling you, you don't have to go out of town for a great neurosurgeon.

I saw Dr. Alvernia for a herniated disc. He did my surgery. Amazing staff. From Janelle to Dr. Alvernia. They were so attentive and very helpful. Dr. Alvernia is extremely smart and took his time to know me and know exactly what I needed. Even after surgery, in the hospital, he made sure I was closely monitored and well taken care of. When I returned home, he and Janelle followed up with me by phone multiple times. I am now doing amazing with no issues and feel great! Very well worth it thanks to him and his team. They are awesome! 100% recommend this office!

Dr. Alvernia is very impressionable with how he takes the time with his patience going over the procedure in detail. He is thorough with his patience and the surgery. He goes over the surgery with the family after the procedure is finished. I would recommend him to any and everyone.

I suffer with back pain for several years without any relief. I underwent lumbar surgery 6/2022. I can say that the back pain is so much better. I was recommend Dr. Alvernia to anyone. The care after surgery was so awesome. Dr. Alvernia was so caring and compassionate during the after care. Bed side manners are awesome. The staff is awesome and I couldn't ask for better care.

I began seeing Dr Alvernia for my herniated disc in my back. I was tired of constantly being in pain and all of the pain medication that I was on. I came in to see Dr Alvernia and he treated me like an individual not just a procedure that he was going to do. He is always very thorough with his exam. He takes time with you and makes sure that you are totally aware of what your health issues are and how he will fix it. Before surgery he asked that I bring my husband to my appointment so that he could make sure that he also knew what my limitations would be as well as my healing time. I definitely recommend that if you are having back problems and just can’t take the pain anymore like I was, you should see Dr Alvernia. Oh, And I just can’t say enough about his nurse Janelle, she is the best.

I had been to different drs for my neck and Dr. Alvernia was the only one that actually sit and listened. He had me to have a x-ray and CT and explained in detail what was going on. I had ACDF surgery from C5-T1 and the pain was gone when I woke up from surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Alvernia.

I had back pain and leg pain for over a year. I had 3 herniated discs and a pinched nerve. I also fell a lot (no balance). It had gotten so bad that I could hardly walk, even with a cane. After trying steroid shots and physical therapy, I asked my primary doctor to send me to Dr. Alvernia, whom I had met in the hospital when I had fallen a had a concussion. Dr. Alvernia had several tests done on me before he decided to perform surgery. The surgery relieved most of the pain and gave me my balance back. I have been in PT since I got out of the hospital and most of my remaining pain is gone. The therapists are now working on strengthening my legs. I hope to shortly feel like a new, old man. I would highly recommend Dr. Alvernia. He is nice, is a good doctor and is local.
