Genuinely concerned and extremely confident in him
He took his time to explain everything, was HUMAN and didn't treat me like a number as so many doctors do.

Let me begin by saying that for many years Dr. Cabrera was a very caring doctor and took the time to listen to his patients. Over the years that has changed drastically. His front office staff has no idea what they are doing, don't follow up with anything and their answer to everything is the doctor doesn't have time to see you, go to urgent care or the ER. The very last time I was there I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. He entered the examining room and said to keep my numbers between 80 and 130, didn't asked if I had any questions, said a scrip for testing supplies would be order (which never were) I was never given any advise on diet or anything else, he just walked out of the room and said see you in 3 months. I found another doctor who cared enough to listen, explain and gave me the name of a nutritionist and followed with blood work and an appointment. If you can't take the time to explain to a patient who has been put back by this diagnosis you should not be a doctor.

Excellent - always. Dr. C. is my primary. He is very knowledgeable on anything I ask about. He is very professional, but has no ego which thankfully allows him to be open minded and really listen to your concerns. He then explains, offers options and suggestions then allows you to choose which approach you want to take. I know he would also add caution if he felt my approach may not be prudent - but he does not say my way or the highway as some doctors I have had, which I am grateful for. I wish more doctors would take notice of his ways and apply them to their practices. I became one of Dr. C. first patients when other favorite primary retired. Like minds - works for me!

I have been a patient of Dr. Cabrera for nearly 6 years now. He is kind, soft spoken, and has a wonderful bedside manner. He was able to diagnose a potentially serious kidney issue on my very first visit with him. He is smart, on top of all the latest medical news, and has incredible patience. I highly recommend !

Dr. Cabrera is my general practitioner. He is, in my opinion, outstanding. He takes the time to listen to your issues and then seeks to provide a remedy. Because he is a researcher himself, I feel he stays on the cutting edge of medicine. In addition, the staff who work with him are each helpful. Amy always greets patients with a smile and is quick to return phone calls. Abigail is very thorough in recording your information and quick to followup with prescription placement. She always has a bright smile of greeting also. I am pleased with the entire team...a class act!

Not very happy with these people right now. My wife has been trying for a week to get someone to help her with her UTI. One week, and no one has called her back. Dr. Cabrera has always been very good to us. I don't understand what is happening.

Office staff is horribly unprofessional. Patty is rude and refused to have my records sent to my new doctor. She told me I had to come pick them up, she couldn't transfer them. I am an hour away, hence why I have a new doctor. She seemed spiteful and was very rude. It seems very unprofessional to refuse to send records to other offices! My care will now be delayed and this is potentially harmful, because she wouldn't send a simple fax. I've only had a handful of visits, my record is not that big

Before you read the great reviews, I am 89 and a new patient of the practice. I have been taking a prescription of generic Mestinon since1950 for Myasthenia Gravis. I called in Tuesday for a refill (this is not a narcotic) and was assured it would be called in. I checked Thursday and it had not been done. I am out of the Rx and the pharmacy stated that they had not heard from the physician. I called the answering service and they stated no Rx calls. Is this incompetence or just no empathy.

Dr Cabrera is our primary physician and has been for the past 3 years. He never rushes through an appointment. He treats his patients like they are the most important people in the world. I have Chronic Kidney Disease and Fibromyalgia and he is so knowledgeable about both. His explanations are thorough yet easy to understand. I think he also speaks spanish, but the main page says only English.

My wife and I recently signed on to have Dr. Cabrera be our Southwest Florida primary care physician, to manage our health care needs during our 4 month stay in Port Charlotte. We both greatly admire Dr. Cabrera for the respect and empathy he provides us as his patients. Frankly, we would like to bring Dr. Cabrera north with us for the other 8 months of the year!
