Avoid at all cost
I went to dr Zapatier for a colonoscopy. Directly after the procedure while I was waiting to be released he told me that they found nothing of concern and my colon was absolute clean. I asked him directly if they found and any polyps and he said no and that I wouldn’t need another colonoscopy for 10 years. He then handed me a report that confirmed all he just said and I went home. I got a call from the nurse a few days later saying the same exact stuff. I had it from Dr zapatiers mouth, the nurse and the written report- No polyps found. About three weeks later I got a bill from pathology charging me for a polyp that was removed. I called dr zapatier who told me that he “checked the wrong box” when writing up the report. Now I am also getting a bill from him for polyp removal. How do you forget that you removed a polyp from a patient and tell them everything’s great before you’ve even sent the polyp to the lab for testing? Then forget to include in your report?

Best Gastro I have ever had
I saw Dr. Zapatier when he was in Des Moines Iowa. My original doctor moved so I was assigned to Dr. Z. He was very supportive and reassuring as well as listened to me and my significant other, answered all our questions no matter how long it took. When I found out he was moving to FL I was assigned different doctors but non of them as good as Dr. Zap.

I witnessed that with my wife’s recent diagnosis and him delivering hard news with empathy and compassion.
