If serious issue, get a second opinion. Was told only a simple vocal chord granuloma, not cancer. On second visit Dr arrogantly said 'not changing diagnosis'. Well, came to better doctors in bay area, they found actually a paralyzed vocal chord and IT IS CANCER!!! He was wrong. Waited patiently for months, in pain, trusting incorrect opinion.

Dr. Kaplan did not review my file prior to my 5th appointment with him and he didn't know who I was, why I was there, or what prior treatments we have tried. He asked about CT scan results that we had gone over in our last appointment. I left every appointment more confused than the last and I never felt like he cared about the pain I was in. I found a new doctor and would not recommend Dr. Kaplan to friends and family.

Dr came from room next door (I heard entire other patient exam due to open doors). Did not introduce himself. Did not ask if I'm taking antihistamines, other visits, or any symptoms/complaints beyond my intake paperwork. Worst part: he never washed his hands from leaving other patient and used his UNGLOVED, UNWASHED hand to grab my tongue! He used a thin piece of gauze, which is NOT a barrier. I was horrified. Poor explanation of fast diagnosis and treatment plan, had to drag info out of him.
