I had the unpleasant opportunity of having Dr. Alcarez as my mother's doctor while at Mt Sinai west in NYC. This doctor was extremely cold towards me and had the worst bedside manor I had ever seen. In front of his entire team he said to me"I wouldn't be surprised if I had to call you and tell you your mother died" That was his way of suggesting I transfer my mom into a hospice setting. He also refused to allow her to get the CT scan she needed stating that it doesn't matter! Never again!
